Well, That Was Annoying

  1. Soooo sorry about your UTI! They are so painful and really lay a person low. Here’s to hoping today is better and the antibiotics kick in very soon! Glad Nurse Archie was sending support 🐾🐶

It’s such a bummer when you plan a special sewing day and “life happens”. Maybe today will bring a bit of sewing

  2. Bummer! So sorry to hear that. Being sick is the worst. I always feel like it’s a waste of a day and I don’t know how many I have left! 😉 I totally understand the feeling sorry for yourself. Good thing Archie was there to commiserate with you.❤️

    1. It really was a waste of the day. I had trouble even trying to read while I rested. And I should not have tried to sew. If you look closely at the simple block I made, one of the units is turned wrong.

    1. I had trouble concentrating yesterday. Both with reading and on sewing. Today will be better and I will start out by fixing the error in the block I attempted to make!

  3. Hope you are feeling better, hate that it interfered with your sewing plans!

Love your fabric choices for the BOM. I just started on the Jan and Feb blocks using my minnick and simpson stash. I think you might have flipped one rectangle unit in the feb block.

  4. There’s nothing worse than a UTI! Sorry to hear it. Might want to take another look at that block on top, at the risk of annoying you further! Xox

  5. What a misery it is to have a UTI. Drink lots of liquids, too, but not so much you get water intoxication, of course!
Dump chicken, apricot jam, and onion soup mix in the crock pot. Yum.

    Hugs!

    1. It was miserable until the antibiotics kicked in, which fortunately didn’t take too long. The questions they ask you when you go into Urgent Care. Honestly. They asked if I have been having sex outside the country. Um, no, and not in this country either. lol

  6. Ugh, UTIs are the worst! I used to get them chronically, even had one go to my kidneys and go septic which put me in the hospital for a week which I barely survived. It was scary. Glad you were able to get quick treatment and are feeling better! Take care!

    1. Oh my gosh Carolyn. That sounds absolutely dire. I am so sorry your infection got to that point. I caught it early, since I’ve had them before and knew what it was. The antibiotics kicked in after only a few hours and I am feeling normal this morning.

  7. I do so hate UTIs. Like you, the ones I had years ago were just unbearable. I once had one when we were traveling with friends down the PCH from San Francisco to Pasadena for a wedding. I thought I would pass out from the pain. Silly me I didn’t make us find an urgent care on the way. I’m glad you are getting relief now, and you got that block fixed!

    1. Oh, that story reminds me of catching one while traveling to Michigan to visit relatives. I was in agony and Urgent Care places weren’t the norm back then. Luckily, I had an uncle who was a general practitioner, who gave me antibiotics. What a nightmare to suffer for days with a UTI. The nurse I saw yesterday said often women wait way too long to be seen and things can get really serious.

  8. Nicole,
I am glad you are feeling better. Happy sewing today and hopefully no more use of that darn seam ripper!

    1. How silly of me to think I needed to sew. I always feel pressured to put out some content for my readers, so I pushed myself. I only needed a few minutes to finish putting the block together since most of it was done, but you can see from my boo boo that I should have left it alone!

  9. Ugh! It is annoying and it really wipes you out. I had it before Christmas, started feeling better for the celebrations and boom, it came back after Christmas! At one stage I asked hubby to take me to the hospital because I know the doctors here aren’t interested and fob you off. At least I found out my blood pressure was good, my heart was good as were my kidneys – I did wonder if I had blood poisoning at one stage! It’s the imbalance and the shivers that really got me down. I hope you have a speedy recovery and that you trounce it good and proper so it doesn’t return! Big healing hugs for you!

  10. I am so sorry to say, there is something worse than a UTI. It is when the UTI forebears a kidney stone. I no longer eat spinach or more than two cashews at once because they produce kidney stones in my particular body. I am weird. At least I know now why I kept growing stones. I also drink lots of water and take calcium potassium in horse sized pills.

    1. I understand that there is nothing worse than the pain caused by kidney stones. My husband has had them a couple of times and was hospitalized both times. He was able to pass them eventually, but it was quite an ordeal. I am glad to hear that you have come up with a solution for your stones!

  11. First, you shouldn’t feel that you have to produce a blog when you’re not feeling well! We’re all here for you & certainly understand that everyone has days that they just need to rest. I had UTI’s when I was teaching & had to wait for coverage for my class or lunch, etc. to get to the restroom. It was miserable! Have you tried drinking cranberry juice? Over ice or warm (like cider) are both tasty & it sure helps flush out the infection–along with antibiotics, of course! Glad you’re feeling better today!
