Spooks and Spells Off to the Quilter

  1. Fingers crossed! Awful that two people were affected by the poor srevice. Both yourself and your quilter. Fun quilt – the sashing just makes the panel sectiions stand out so well.

    1. I asked about paying for additional insurance, but my postmaster told me it would be the same situation if it went missing: I would be required to show a store receipt for the actual item. Yes, my quilter felt horrible. I’ve been a good customer and I am sure she was worried I would never send her another quilt. She was so helpful to me: going to her post office and filling out forms, showing photos of the damaged box. All for nothing.

  2. Love the Halloween quilt! I’m not sure if you’ve tried this but I do some machine quilting for people and when I return a quilt I always spend the money for signature required. I always think-hope that it makes it a bit more secure in getting lost. Might not do anything at all. I just finished a new Freida McFadden book, The Divorce….so good couldn’t put it down. Working on an old Lori Holt Christmas quilt, the one with the old station wagons with a tree on the roof. I finished another one and the same book with 25 Christmas blocks. Done in her fabrics which aren’t the normal Christmas colors! A couple new quilts for the holidays! Enjoy the weekend!

    1. People love or hate Frieda McFadden, but if you know what you are going into with one of her books, you can enjoy the wild ride. Don’t expect anything close to reality, and lots of unhinged characters. When I am in the mood, she really hits the spot. I may pick up The Divorce.
It sounds like you have been busy! I have two more quilts, both Christmas themed, that I am thinking of sending out on the heels of the Halloween ones. It would be nice to have them for the holidays, but that quilting bill is going to kill me!

  3. Love this Halloween quilt! The piecing really makes the blocks stand out. I look forward to seeing it quilted.

    1. I think the quilt pattern was designed for this particular fabric collection, but wouldn’t it be cute in Christmas fabrics? If only you could find a panel that had the right sized squares.

  4. Think of all of the quilts that DID make it to & from Florida! Stick with that & ‘lightning doesn’t strike twice’ & jump in! It’s about all you can do anymore with delivery services (I use the term ‘services’ lightly.) Although, both of my Alaskan quilt shop purchases arrived via USPS on time!
