I bought a quilt kit. This one is called Poinsettia and Pears, a kit by Sherri McConnell, featuring her new fabric collection of the same name. This fabric collection is awesome, and the kit includes all the fabrics, the pattern for a block-of-the-month quilt block, and monthly tutorials on how to construct the blocks.
I could not believe how many fabrics were in this collection!
How gorgeous is this first block? I absolutely adore that tweaked flying geese unit that surrounds the center square.
The kit includes the pattern, which is also available separately, in case you have another fabric collection you want to use. Each month, Sherri will provide a tutorial including helpful hints on block construction. If you have the kit and pattern, there is nothing stopping you from forging ahead and constructing the quilt on your own.
I am super excited to get going on this quilt! I have made the first block and have the fabrics for the second block all starched and ready to go. The blocks are unique and the fabric super gorgeous. I am really excited for this project.

Looks like a great pattern. I like how it is pretty in Christmas colors but could be used In other fabrics as well.

Sherri’s patterns and tutorials are really top notch and I love this fabric! I’ve been ogling it since she began showing it. You are aware that you will have to get backing at some point though. Your excitement comes through the page! Love it!
