See, I can get some sewing done if I put my mind to it. I got all caught up with the A Quiltitng Life BOM, just in time for the September block to be released next week. I am so glad I switched gears with this sew-along and am using up my stash of Old Glory fabrics. It is fitting to use a patriotic collection since all Sherri’s blocks are star designs.

This is the June block, which I love. Lots of flying geese in this one, and I think they form an interesting pattern around the center star unit. You have to really watch your point intersections on this block, and I was pleased with how mine came out. (I may have re-done one or two…)

This block is for July. It’s a little different because I used a six-inch block I had made for another quilt for the center unit. I also have pulled various navy fabrics from other collections because the quilt needs a third color besides red and light blue. I scoured my stash for navy prints, especially ones with stars. Interesting note: Thimbleblossoms and Primitive Gatherings navies worked well.

This block may be my favorite. I had fun making it. That pinwheel starts out huge, and you draw diagonal lines on the red star fabric and sew along the lines to make your folded corner units. It came out nice and accurate!
So, there we are, done and dusted. This weekend I absolutely have to finish the borders on the tops I have been procrastinating on. It is getting ridiculous.
I hope you all have a marvelous weekend!
