I’ve been a bad blogger lately. After my Ladies’ Weekend getaway, I had to head out early the next day to drive to the Bay Area for my eye injections. I got home yesterday around dinner time after spending four hours in traffic and had no energy or inclination to blog. But here I am today, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to get back to it!
Clearly no sewing has been happening, but I do have some cute fall table runners to share with you. The one above I absolutely love. I call it the Ears of Corn runner. This was a kit from Riley Blake designed by Sandy Gervais, called “Let’s Pop Some Corn”. I don’t know if you can still get a kit, but the pattern is available on Etsy.
This runner is called Sunflower Seeds and is from a pattern by The Pattern Basket. It is a full-sized quilt pattern, but I adapted it to make a runner. It is available here. Adapting blocks that you love from full-sized quilt patterns is an easy thing to do, so don’t be afraid to try. Some of my favorite table runners originated exactly that way.
This one is called Sunflower Duet and is from a book called The Big Book of Table Toppers by Karen Burns. I don’t have a link for it except for one on Amazon that is $55, but I think you can easily find a used copy for under $20 if you search online. It has a lot of great patterns in it by various designers. Lynn Hagemeier designed this one.
I know I have shared these runners in past posts, but I enjoy dragging them out each year and hope that you don’t mind revisiting them either.
While I was away, my husband Dennis went shopping for me and bought me a new tee-shirt. He thought the message was appropriate, and I can’t say he’s wrong. It was sweet of him.
I am so exhausted from all my activities lately that I feel as if it must be the weekend, but no such luck. I will treat myself to a facial and some other self-care today and get some much-needed rest. Hopefully I will do something entertaining enough to share with you all tomorrow!

Love your table runners. All I need to do is sew down the binding on the ear of corn. Thought about machine doing it, but old habits die hard. The sunflowers I have done as well. There are several good runners in that book. Enjoy your relaxing day!
