I Made Pies

  1. Nicole, I am so, so sorry that you are experiencing vision problems. Our eyes are so important to us and it’s easy to take them for granted……until problems appear. I love Flosstubes but I can only handle one or two in a day. Then I have to get on with my eternal list of todos. And I don’t enjoy audio books, so actually reading is my only choice. This month our book club read F. Scott Fitzgerald’s ‘The Beautiful and Damned’. We had quite a discussion! Very few members liked the book but they loved talking about it! It had been a long time since I’d read any of his work. I want to read some others, though I know I’ve read them in my college days. In May we’re reading ‘The Book Club for Troublesome Women’. It should get better reviews and I anticipate a lot of discussion!!!!!

  2. I’m so sorry you’re going through this! My sister was just diagnosed with wet AMD, she’s two years older than me and started with dry AMD at the same age I did. She’s getting the monthly shots now and says they’re helping. I’m sure this is hindering your quilting progress! Praying your eyes are better soon!

    1. Thanks Carolyn and best wishes for your sister’s improvement. Taking Areds vitamins was recommended for my family members, since this condition is absolutely genetic. My kids and sisters are all on the Areds bandwagon. Hopefully it will help.

  3. Those pies look scrumptious! Did you serve them topped with whipped cream? Do you have any audio books right now to break the monotony while you wait for improvement? We’re Team Areds here, too.

  4. Yummy pies. I was diagnosed with dry AMD about 3 years ago and immediately put on AREDS. My progress is very slow, so I am grateful for that.
