I simply could not wait until the end of the month to recommend these great October books. Honestly, these were all so good, I strongly suggest that you pick up one or more of them for the perfect seasonal reads for autumn!
I am not going to go too much into plot detail here, just enough to tell you a basic summary.
A Dark and Secret Magic by Wallis Kinney is a witchy fantasy (romantasy) based very loosely on the myth of Persephone and Hades. Just look at that beautiful cover! Hecate Goodwin is a hedge witch whose coven has been keeping secrets about how much power she actually has.
The First Witch of Boston by Andrea Catalano is based on a real historical figure, Margaret Jones, the first woman to be executed as a witch in Massachusetts. The story is told partly from the point of view of her beloved husband, which makes it different and interesting. Free on Kindle Unlimited.
Salt and Broom by Sharon Lynn Fisher is a retelling of Jane Eyre! Only in this book, Jane is an instructor at a private school for witches who is recruited by Mr. Rochester to rid his estate, Thornfield Hall, of the evil spirit of his deceased wife. So good! Also free on Kindle Unlimited.
If It Makes You Happy by Julie Olivia is a romance that will give you all the feelings of fall. If you start drinking pumpkin spice lattes in August and have your fall decorations up by September 1, this book is for you. Set in October in Vermont, this slow-burning romance is just the thing to perfect your autumn reading experience!
Don’t wait! These perfect-for-fall books were all read by me and are wholeheartedly recommended. I just know you will enjoy them too!

No pumpkin spice lattes for me, but I’m going to take a look at If It Makes You Happy. My Halloween & Fall runners are out but that’s about it–I’m slacking this year! Thanks for the reviews!
I don’t care for pumpkin lattes or pumpkin spice candles or beverages, but will happily look for these interesting titles.
Did you ever read any of Delores Riccio’s books set in New England? I think the first is “A Circle of Five” but it’s been a while since I read them.
Hugs!
