I swear each block I make for this calendar quilt is cuter than the last one. I don't remember when I have had so much fun making quilt blocks.
The block above is for May, "May Flowers". The tulips block pattern is from one of the Lori Holt Farm Girl Vintage books.

Next we have, which just may be, the cutest quilt block in the history of mankind. This Flip Flop block for the month of June (how perfect is that?) was kindly given to me by my talented friend Carol of the San Francisco Stitch Co, A few years back, she and a friend wrote a quilt pattern called Summerhouse, and this is one of the patterns in the project. Seriously, it pays to blog and make friends in high places, I tell you.
Dennis and I are in the Bay Area for another session of infusions for him this week. We won't be home til late Wednesday, so I did as much sewing as possible on Friday and Saturday. It is so important that I get this quilt top finished in the next week or two so I can send it off to be quilted. I want to give it to Eva as an eighth grade graduation gift at the end of May. I sure hope that is possible.
The infusions are helping his balance and strength, which is fantastic. Today he stood without hanging on to anything and tied the tie on the front of his sweat pants. That kind of fiddly thing would not have been possible for him to do a month ago. It may not sound like much, but he has come a l.o.n.g way!

Your quilt is coming along and it is so cute! Love the flip-flops! OH, and I am so happy to hear about Dennis’ progress. I think of you often and am sending you good thoughts!
These blocks are adorable! What a perfect quilt for Eva. It’s wonderful to hear the progress Dennis is making! Have a wonderful week!
You both must be elated with the improvements the infusions are making! Baby steps keep him moving forward! It sounds as if you’ve recuperated from last week’s illness! The May & June blocks are super cute & you’re halfway there! To speed up the process once it’s quilted you might want to make the binding ahead of time so you’re ready to go.
These are the cutest darn quilt blocks!! And I’m always happy to hear of Dennis’s milestones!! I’m cheering you both on!
A-ha! Those 2 new quilt blocks are indeed the cutest ever. Eva is going to love this quilt.
So glad to hear of your husband’s continuing progress. Baby steps forward are exactly what we want to hear.
The quilt for Eva is just awesome! She is going to love it.
It’s great to hear about Dennis’ progress!
My husband (also named Dennis) gets infusions 2 weeks apart, 3 times a year to keep a different autoimmune disease in check. So far it has kept him able to stay healthy and doing normal activities.
He has been dealing with this disease (Polymyositis),which came on very suddenly, for about 9 years now and before his diagnosis and treatment his muscles became so weak he had trouble standing up and walking just a few feet. Now we take a daily 5K walk together. Stay strong!
Wow!!! Fantastic news on both fronts! Such happy news about Dennis ‘s progress. Onwards and upwards for him! And the cutest quilt ever! What a lovely keep sake for your grade 8 graduate!
I don’t think I know anyone personally who has had infusion treatment. It is interesting to hear about the process. Very glad this is working so well for him.
that purple block is my favorite! it’s gonna be an adorable quilt. safe journey and enjoy the brief sunshine.
So pleased that you’re feeling better, your husband is improving, and you two are having an outing!
