Corn and Beans

This little table topper featuring the Corn and Beans block turned out pretty cute.  It is small, about 18", but perfect for the end of my island where I like to have a vase of flowers and a candle.  It will be wonderful in August with some sunflowers.  I actually sewed for a couple of hours yesterday.  I got the border on the Corn and Beans topper and have half of Sweet Escape sewn together.  Can't wait to show you that one–it is really nice.

We were off to the pool for an early evening picnic yesterday.  Pasta salad and fried chicken, yum.  Eva is wearing a cute new terry cover up I got her at Target.  The pool we belong to has switched over to salt water, which seems ever so much nicer than the previously over chlorinated water.  The water seems softer and lighter if you can believe it.  And no itching after I swim, which is a huge relief to me!

It feels as if summer has arrived.

  1. I love the fabrics and colors in Corn and Beans and the Flying Geese border! I’ve long intended mkaing this block so perhaps I’ll be inspired by you to just do it. 🙂
Miss E is too cute, as always.
How interesting for the pool to switch to salt water. I’ve never heard of that being done.
    Hugs!

  2. Your summer is off to a great start! Sewing & swimming with your best girl; what could be nicer? Especially with a chicken picnic & soothing salt water pool time!

  3. We built a pool last year and had them make it a salt water pool. It’s so much easier to take care of and the water feels decadent!!
