Well, what do you think? Is this not one of the cutest table runners ever? It had a gazillion pieces, and the pattern instructions were not the best, but I got it done in two days! I showed it to Dennis, and he looked at it and said, “That’s… interesting. ” He had absolutely no idea what it was. He then asked, “Why are some of the Ks backward?” I swear.
Regardless of his lukewarm response, I think it is adorable, and I can see immediately what the design depicts. Geesh.

The pattern is called Witches Feet and is by Block Party Quilt Co. The fabric is called Frank and Friends by My Mind’s Eye for Riley Blake. The fabrics in the photo are just the ones I pulled for the runner. I have loads of other prints left. In my fever of Moda-fandom, I sometimes forget about other fabric companies, and Riley Blake is not to be underestimated. Their designers are terrific, and the quality of the quilting cotton is first-rate.

I am celebrating today because Eva’s water polo team won their first sectional playoff game on Tuesday night! We sat outside in the drizzle and cheered them on alongside a fairly large crowd of supporters. The nice man with the bag of cowbells was there again and loaned me a cowbell to clang at appropriate moments. I must get my own cowbell for next year. The girls won 14-4 and will play again tonight in their second playoff game. Each game, the opponents are higher ranked (or seeded), so the games get progressively more challenging.

Oh, here’s something you will get a kick out of. I’ve been doing Weight Watchers and have been doing great. These days, it’s all online. I use the app on my phone, which is excellent, by the way, to track my food points. I have a virtual counselor who is supposed to be paying attention to and monitoring my weight loss. I recently reached my personal goal weight of 125 pounds. The counselor must have been asleep at the switch because she finally woke up and texted me that I have gotten too thin and need to regain at least 6 pounds. Like, when in the history of mankind has that ever happened? And what sane person would say, “Oh, ok. Right, bring on the ice cream and carbs”? I wanted to ask her if she was seriously thinking anyone would actually do that on purpose. I’ll be lucky not to regain 10 pounds over Christmas by accident.
