I’ve purchased a couple of new quilting-related things recently and thought I would share them with you all. The first is this adorable table runner pattern called Witches Feet by Block Party Quilt Co. I just love those crazy boots and stockings and think this is a cute and different-looking table runner. I’ve got plenty of Halloween scraps in my stash, but I ordered that funny diamond-pattern print because it is just so perfect.

Another pattern I purchased a download of is this Buffalo Check Christmas runner pattern by Carried Away. I have their square version, but this rectangular one is going to work better in the spot I have in mind. Their square version has both a Christmas design and a Fall Pumpkin design, so it is well worth getting if you can use a square table topper.

I could not resist Camille Roskelley’s latest collection, “Bloomsberry”. It will be such fun to work with this coming spring and summer. I also have a table topper in mind for this. I’ve gotten to the point where I honestly don’t need another full-sized quilt. I think I will have better luck working with smaller projects, actually finishing them, and spending less money on new collections that strike my fancy. Have you noticed how the price of a fat quarter bundle is creeping towards $200? Yikes.

Here is a look at all the pieces in the Bloomsberry collection. Pretty, right?
In other news, Eva officially has a boyfriend. She is going to the “Fall Formal” with him this coming Saturday, and of course a fancy dress was called for. Her daddy took her shopping to the nearest big town where there is a Macy’s and she tried on approximately 48 dresses (only exaggerating slightly). She is a size 3/4 and looked adorable in every one of them, including the glittery green one her dad picked out that looked like something a figure skater would wear.

The dress she chose is long, kind of sparkly, and a very dark blue that is impossible to capture properly in a photograph. I had to make a couple of alterations for her, which is why it is at my house with Archie sniffing the Dickens out of it.

Here is a close-up where you can see the color better. She looks amazing in this dress. Towering shoes were also required, which make her about 5′ 10″. I hope they have a professional photographer at the dance so we can all have a picture of the cute couple.
Obviously, my progress on the pumpkin log cabin quilt has stalled this week, but I plan to get back on it. Hope your week is going great!

I made the Buffalo Check Christmas runner last year. It turned out very cute. I did buy the fabric colors for the check they recommended cause I had trouble deciding on my own.
I think I will make another holiday runner too and start a big project at the start of the new year. You are always so inspiring!
I love the square buffalo check topper I made with the pumpkins. It is very distinctive. I used their recommended bella solids for the check too. Stone and Etchings I think they were called. I may just make the square holiday topper as well as the longer runner!
Eva is going to knock the socks off everyone at the ball. Pretty dress indeed. They grow up so fast!
Fun patterns and the strawberry fabric is lovely. I’m still cutting up strips for the log cabin. I’m beginning to feel like I’ve had enough!!!
I used a jelly roll for my strips and it made things go lightning fast!
I made the Halloween topper & used the suggested Bella solids because it was just easier! Awwww…Eva’s going to be gorgeous in that dress! Be sure to share a photo of them if he’s ok with it! Archie has new ‘foreign’ sniffs to sniff on that hem!
I agree, the pattern recommended bella solids were the perfect amount of contrast to form the check design.
Ryan must be in tears…..she has a boyfriend. Can’t wait to see her in that dress. Thank goodness you can do the alterations bc that is a lost art. Someone I know needed a dress altered for her wedding tea ceremony. She had the hardest time finding anyone that could do it.
yes, I’ve noticed how much fabric is costing these days. I just bought a fq bundle of Lydia Rose by bunny hill. the best price I could find was at Quilt in a Day in So. Cal. I’ve gotten some good deals from them on yardage too. next time you’re searching check them out. quick shipping too.
Ryan has already made friends with the boy’s parents, so that is nice. The young man comes from a big family, and his parents are super active in school activities. Both kids are only 15, so it will be a while before they can drive anywhere on their own. The parents have to handle all the transportation, so they all get to know each other pretty quickly.
I recently bought a lot of Sheri and Chelsi’s Willow and Birch harvest collection, but found a place online that will cut just the fat quarters of the pieces I want, so I didn’t have to buy the entire bundle. Rossville Quilts. They are great when you just want fat quarters.
wait. what?! no one cuts fqs anymore. do you just send them an email and ask? that is exceptional service.
No, no, it is an option under what cut of fabric do you want! Fat quarter, quarter yard, half yard, yard etc. They do it for every single line they carry, and they carry most of the collections from major fabric companies. $3.35 per fat quarter.
I went to their website and checked it out but somehow missed the fq option…..I see it now. still exceptional service. no one cuts fqs anymore. no one.
