I did not get as much done over the weekend as I had hoped to, but I am just so pleased with these five revised A Quilting Life BOM blocks!

I made the first one on the upper left as intended, but the second block in the center, I changed up just a bit. The red frame was supposed to go on the outside edges of the block but I preferred the look of it placed more inward.

The third block on the upper right was made the way the pattern instructed, but I may have added an additional set of corner squares to the center. to make the red star more prominent.

The fourth block on the lower left was made exactly as the pattern directed. It has one of my favorite block units, an adapted flying goose unit:

After making your flying goose unit, you add an additional corner square to achieve the affect in the photo above. I just love this look.

The last block, the one on the bottom right was a substitute. I thought the block for the month of May was a bit too simple, so I swapped a block called Winter Star from Lori Holt’s Farm Girl Vintage book. I really like it and think it fits in with the aesthetic of this BOM.

So, that’s all I got done. No borders on my long-suffering UFOs. This will be a great week to sew however, since Dennis will be away having his infusions for half the week. No other items on the calendar, so I am raring to go!
