  1. How often are your eye treatments? I assume big bonus is seeing your Bay Area family regularly!

    1. I go every four weeks for my injections. At some point, the trip will stop being practical, as I won’t be able to make the three-hour drive. I dread the day when we will either have to move closer to our medical care, or find possibly lowe level of care in our rural area. For now it is working out.

  2. I don’t want to be negative Nellie….and though it’s a cute block, is the bottom of the left side of the cake stand correct? Have a good time after the eye appointment as a reward.

    1. At first I thought it looked odd as well, but it. is supposed to be the way the base of the cake stand looks. The right side is covered by the strawberry leaning against it.

  3. Yes I see it now. The strawberry is in front of the cake stand and I was thinking it was behind.

  4. Somehow I missed the Strawberry QAL. These are cute blocks! I have a strawberry pattern that it would be good to get out now. Strawberry season is so short here, and Michigan berries are the best!!

  5. Oh this is also such a cute block! That darker fabric really works well as a contrast.

Glad you had a fun Mother’s day with Sara and Eva, and the other family members that you mentioned….it’s always fun to reminisce about “do you remember back when so-and-so was about 8 years old and did that silly _____ ” fill in the blank.

Good wishes and positive vibes sent for your continuing progress with the eye injections.

  6. I love cake stands in real life so was excited to see your adorable block! I think they make a cake look even better perched on a cute stand! Have a safe drive & a good visit while you’re in the Bay Area.

  7. it really is a wonderful block! I totally understand what you mean about the driving. our most recent doctor in palo alto left at the end of last year. she had her 2nd baby and they wanted to be closer to family in Oklahoma. she was such a good doctor but it was kind of a slog to avoid commute times and cross the bridge. I tried a new doctor at the fremont facility and I liked her. makes it so much easier for me. I figure I can eventually call Uber when I can’t drive anymore. ;p

  8. Lovely block and such a nice cake stand too with the scalloped edging. Hope all goes well at the hospital. I can’t imagine the eye injections without wincing!
