I had a great weekend sewing!
I made good progress on the Bliss blocks, which are at the bottom of the photograph. There are 12 blocks in total, and the setting is very interesting, with lots of red flying geese and some red center stars. This is a quilt where the setting really makes the quilt. I am halfway through the blocks, so I hope to have this finished in the next few weeks. There are tons of red flying geese to make, so those will take me a minute.

The second Swoon block is to the right of the first one I made. I have such a good selection of green and navy prints that every block will be different yet blend together beautifully. This is going to be a gorgeous quilt when it is finished.
Did you all have a good weekend? It is practically a holiday in the US, with the Super Bowl happening. Even people who never watch football are excited to go to a Super Bowl party. My son-in-law, Ryan, went all out, catering in handmade sushi and sashimi for snacks. So delicious. I made a hot bean dip, and there were hot chicken wings, onion dip, and all the usual Super Bowl snacks.

It was pretty special!

Beautiful blocks, love your color placing.
Thank you so much Doris!
Your Bliss & Swoon blocks look great! I agree that you won’t go wrong using the green & navy fabrics together. Whether you’re a football fan or not the Super Bowl can be a time to have some food fun! The platters in the photo are so inviting! Cheers to a great sewing week ahead!
Green and navy is such a great color combination. The Swoon blocks do take a bit of time, but each one comes out so pretty.
Yes, those are beautiful blocks! Looks like your Super Bowl party was a “gastronomical delight!” We had someone in our neighborhood shooting off fireworks at the end, so they must have been happy.
Oh my gosh, I wish I had brought a book along to read. That was the most boring game I ever saw.
oh, my! your blocks are gorgeous. I can’t keep up with all of your sewing. Bliss blocks? I don’t remember those. I swear. I.am.old.
Bad Bunny was so much fun. Lady Gaga singing in Spanish? Wonderful! I’ve got to go back and read the posts I’ve missed the last couple of days.
Bliss was a Fig Tree pattern that you could only get if you subscribed to the FQS Sew Sampler box, which I didn’t. After the year is over, FQS releases the pattern cards for sale in a bundle. They are pricey, but I really liked the fabric and the setting so I bought the cards. I am really glad I did because I am enjoying sewing the blocks so much. I am going to start on the flying geese for the setting pretty soon.
The blocks look great – as does that splendiferous dish of sushi!
The sushi was top notch!
