Halloween Figs Sampler Progress

I've been pulling out my Halloween Figs block of the month kits and working on it again. I can't tell you what month this is though!  I got mixed up when I set the applique blocks aside. What I do know is that it is called "Goose in the Pond". I do love how striking this block is. And it's a big one!

I am so pleased with how this block turned out too. Matching up those points for the black fabric was no joke. I may have used my seam ripper a bit, but I think I conquered it. This block is called "Carpenter's Wheel". Love it.

My sewing room is absolutely stuffed with projects in progress, but I couldn't bear to put these pretty blocks away just yet. This is going to be a great quilt!

I told you I had a lot going on in there!! If you look behind my iron, you can get a sneak peek at the next Summer in the Country block. It is an extra bonus block I found that was not on the FAQ sheet. Here is a link to the pattern "Grandma".

But you know me, I made it slightly different. Check back on Thursday for all the details.

This girl just got back from a vacation to Alaska, and the first thing she wanted to do was bake. She made a chocolate cake! I missed her and am so glad she's back in my clutches again.

  1. Love the Halloween blocks! I have better luck with appliqué than piecing 🤭. Eva did a great job on the cake!

  2. Welcome home Eva! That chocolate cake looks delicious! And, your quilt blocks look great, too! I especially like the ‘Goose In The Pond’.

  3. Look at all the beautiful stuff going on in your sewing room! I love all of your blocks on display. Eva looks so cute enjoying your creation. She looks so grown up!

  4. So many beautiful blocks, never boring or repetitious in your sewing room! I wouldn’t be able to pick a favorite, I just love traditional blocks. Eva’s chocolate cake looks so delicious! Yum!

  5. I love the Goose block! I have never made that and would love to. I love those Halloween colors so much. What did Eva think of Alaska? Did she see any giant moose?
I did finish appliquéing all 248 hearts for my Laundry Basket Quilts pattern. Can’t sew anything together right now so it’s boxed. Too many house projects going on. ugh.

  6. Yay Eva — that chocolate cake looks delicious! And of course your blocks are wonderful. That Halloween Figs quilt will be a beauty!
I just started a new project that hopefully I will finish, ha. Have you ever watched the British comedy series As Time Goes By? The main character couple have a cozy quilt on their bed that I’m trying to re-create. It’s made using the Pinwheel block.

  7. Your quilts are looking so good! Each has a unique look. Also—chocolate cake! It’s making me hungry.

  8. I love the Halloween blocks as well as the other two quilts. You have been busy! It’s nice that Eva is back. You can have some good summer time with her. Umm, chocolate cake! Hubby has a birthday celebration coming up and that will be on the menu.
