It's a Quilt Shop! How cute is that? The Designer Mystery 2015 Block 6 is a quilt shop. What a perfect addition to our village.

It's coming along, my little village. My tiny star blocks are progressing too, but gosh, they are slow going. Very fussy to make those little 2 1/2" center stars.

My friend Sue and I always like to buddy-read a book or two during the holiday season. This time we chose a cozy mystery called "Gingerdead Man" by Maya Corrigan. It is a light read, not too intense or gory. Cozy mysteries tend to rely on poison or other not-too-bloody means of offing the victims. This book has a lot of characters to keep track of (that's my only complaint so far). I am about three-quarters of the way through it, and I sure don't have a clue who done it. Have any of you read this? It is part of a series evidently, but you don't need to have read any of the previous books.
Do you enjoy reading holiday-themed books during Christmas? What do you recommend?

I save any Christmas themed books I get throughout the year and read them in December. Most of mine are romance oriented because I get the best deals on them. Nothing like a feel good book by the light of a Christmas tree
I love reading Christmas books❣️ Love your new header.
That book looks fun & I do enjoy cozy mysteries. Your quilt shop block is so cute, as are those teeny-tiny star blocks! It’s going to be a great quilt!
I love your book suggestions throughout the year. Your quilting is an inspiration as well. Thanks
I love your village… looking great and super colours…
Hugz
Love your cheery house/shop blocks!
This time of year I enjoy reading …
The Cottage Tales of Beatrix Potter by Susan Wittag Albert
The Aunt Dimity series by Nancy Atherton.
Rhys Bowen has written several Christmas theme books, too.
Hugs!
Donna Andrews has a wonderful series of cozy mysteries where there’s always an animal/bird involved. The main character and her crazy family make for a really fun read. Andrews does a Christmas-themed mystery every year along with the other books.I just finished The Gift of the Magpie.
I like the Aunt Dimity series also.
You’re going to town on the Mystery quilt! The weekly star block is one I was always sorry I did not participate in. It will be fun to see yours when it is done.
Love the little hummingbird “surprise”. I have several feeders at my house in the PNW to encourage them to stop by. I’m enjoying your Mystery quilt.
