Normally I dislike it when bloggers post all about all the fabric they are buying and rarely about what they make with it, but I just have to share this. You know I have confessed that I have been on a bit of a buying spree lately. My latest purchase arrived yesterday and I am feeling quite excited.

Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet is doing a red sampler sew along, that is just so darn cute. I know I said no more red quilts for a long while, but this one is irresistible. Check it out, see if you don't feel the same. This is her fat quarter bundle of reds to get you started on the sew along.

And then. And then I got this Moda kit to make a red white and blue flag quilt by Primitive Gatherings.

This Flag Stands For Freedom is a Moda kit that features fat quarters from the new American Gatherings collection by Primitive Gatherings. There is a ton of fabric in the kit. Fatquarters of the entire collection plus some extra yardage. Moda kits are so attractively packaged, and you have to love the box.

  1. I ordered some red/white fabrics from Fat Quarter to make the Lori Holt quilt. Mine just arrived, and I can’t wait to get going on it. I’m a sucker for anything red/white.

  2. I have the Our Flag Stands for Freedom kit also. Excited to make that this summer. I’ve yet to find out how the 2 color binding was accomplished but there’s time for that. Happy Sewing!

  3. I saw that Primitive Gatherings quilt online and was very taken with it; it got me wanting to make a red-white-and-blue quilt. Ultimately, I decided on another pattern and am waiting on my fabric order to arrive. It could be a RW&B summer!

  4. You use so much red in your quilts that I’m sure those new ones will be put to use soon! The flag kit looks interesting…I’m going to go check it out! Stay well!

  5. Be sure to check Lisa Bongeans website for pattern corrections. I got this kit and had a heck of a time cutting it out because things weren’t adding up right. Checked for corrections and it solved my problem.

  6. Oh, Lori’s sampler sew-along looks wonderful! Thanks for recommending it. The fabric assortment in the flag kit is tempting….

  7. yes, I saw Lori’s sew-along and was tempted. it is going to be a gorgeous quilt. I will live vicariously through you. I have not seen the Primitive Gatherings quilt. That is stunning.
