Cheep Cheep

This is Moda Blockheads block #28, designed by Jan Patek.  It looks better from a distance, but all in all, I think it is pretty cute.  I added a little birdie for extra interest.

I haven't gotten much sewing done this week, alas.  I was out of town having medical appointments early in the week, then I had to work, and yesterday I observed in Eva's classroom, which was an interesting experience.  Clearly her teacher could use some parent volunteers.  Eva is in a combo class this year, half kindergarteners and half first graders.  It is a challenge to juggle the two age groups, and the first graders have to be pretty self directed while the teacher is occupied with the younger kids.  It may be a challenge, but the class size is only 16, which is a big positive.  One thing that I was reminded of today was how wiggly boys are.  Gracious, they just can't seem to sit still or keep their hands to themselves.

Hope you all have a great weekend.  My husband and I are taking a day trip up to Lake Tahoe, which should be fun.  Except no sewing obviously.  Oh well.  I will try to make it up next week!
