A Touch of Fall Here, A Touch of Fall There

This past weekend, I got out some of my fall decorations.  Gosh, I do love this time of year!  I was dying to tack this sweet little autumnal plaque on a wall somewhere, but my husband wouldn't let me put a nail hole in the wall.

That's ok, I had other fish to fry.  My little nick nacks are everywhere!

And of course, I had to have a fall themed quilt…

Don't look to closely.  No, I haven't quite got the binding on yet, but I will.  Maybe even this week.

Last, but not least, my autumn dishes!

  1. You are certainly in the autumn spirit!
This is my favorite time of year, too, and it’s fun to change things around to echo the seasons. Makes everything feel warm and cozy. 🙂
I love all the nick nacks and especially the quilt on the couch. So beautiful!

  2. You are very inspiring Nicole, maybe I should be adding a few of my Autumn quilts etc.. to my decor soon too. No denying the change of season here, I woke up to the sound of the furnace running this morning.

  3. Oh, I love seasonal decorations! I hang autumn wall hangings, change silk flowers, autumn colored throw pillows, and have a couple of wall pictures that I change to autumn scenes. Yep, I also have autumn nic-nacks and dishes. Perhaps this is a remnant of my yearning to have a bulletin board to decorate as elementary school teachers do!
Will the autumn weather be very different at your new home from what you were used to near the coast?
Oh! Surely Eva needs an autumn baby quilt for her first autumn!
    Hugs!

  4. What a good idea putting a quilt on the couch – I’ll have to try that as I am getting rather tired of my plain (but still in excellent condition so no excuse for replacement) brown couch.
I just happened to see one of those glass pumpkins (the yellow one) yesterday – maybe I’ll go and price it as it looks so pretty in your house.

  5. Looks fantastic.
Fall has become my favorite season to decorate for. Christmas has become too overwhelming, and the colors of fall are my favorites. I’m digging my boxes out this weekend, despite the 100+ temps outside.
I love your fall quilt, and I particularly love how you put it on the seat of the couch. That looks really nice. I always drape my quilts over the back of the couch, but I’m going to try your way!
PS – Have you ever tried command hooks? They work like a charm, and I bet your hubby would let you use one for something small like a plaque. They don’t leave any residue on paint…promise!

  6. I love that quilt! What pattern is it? I was a bit disappointed this year – as I haven’t seen many fall lines come out. This pattern looks like a great one for a scrappy version! Thanks for sharing.
