I got back to working on my Brio/Frivols table runner and am super pleased with how the block turned out. I will probably make five of these blocks for the runner. Maybe more, we shall see.
These fabrics are an older American Jane collection which I find so cheerful and fun. I am certainly leaning towards those brighter hues lately.

My friend Carol from One Stitch At a Time (if you aren't following her, you should) and I have agreed to encourage each other along to finish up some of the Frivols we bought back in the day, and this is the one we both started a couple of months ago.
As you can see, there is a bit of trimming to be done on the gazillion half-square triangles required for the block. For some reason, they all need to be trimmed to 2 1/4", a not very common size.
Carol was moaning about losing her sewing mojo lately and I encouraged her to get back to the Brio project, with the promise that I would as well. Go check out her blog (which is always entertaining) and give her a boost of encouragement. I know she'll appreciate it.
Besides trying to squeeze in time to sew for a bit each day, I've been working on putting back all the things I removed from the closets and dressers in our various bedrooms. That can be a real time sink if I allow it to be, so I have gotten out my Pomodoro timer and have been using it with success.

The Pomordoro method of time management is that you set the timer for 5, 15, 30, or 60 minutes and work on a specific task for that period of time. When the timer dings, you stop. Do this each day and you will power through various tasks you would prefer to put off. It is a great method and I highly recommend it.
Hope your week got off to a great start. Eva came over after school and we made coffee cake, which came out great. Time was short, so she didn't have much time to enjoy a piece, but it will be here when she comes over tomorrow!

Been there; done that with the sewing mojo thing. I finally tried a new process–took a class–and the mojo returned! Nice to read that Eva has been over to bake with you again! 😊
I agree, lovely fabric, fun blocks.
I also agree, blocks components that have 1/4” or 3/4” variations (instead of even inches or half inches) are super annoying.
Would you share your coffee cake recipe?
What a great idea to stay focused! I think you’ve mentioned it before but I really need to try it! Glad you’re working on frivols and such happy colors!
