Oh my gosh, I haven't been sewing the past couple of days, but my head is spinning with all the other things I have been doing. This post is all over the place, but I know there will be something for everyone.
I brought out some Easter decorations, including a little bunch of fresh snapdragons, which I think are a great addition. I stopped by the new Bath and Body Works in Sonora and picked up three Easter candles. The one in the picture above is Easter Candy Basket, which is a really fun scent for the season. It kind of smells like jelly beans.

Our new fire table was delivered and our son-in-law helped us unpack it and get it set up. I can't wait to use it at night! The cover in the center comes off and there are clear rocks from which the fire emerges. For now, we have used it in the late afternoon while we sip our wine and watch the hummingbirds at the feeder. Archie thinks it's fine, but doesn't really understand the fuss. My gosh, the weather has been nice this week.

I sat outside for a bit yesterday afternoon "auditioning" three books I want to read. Have you ever done this? Read the first chapter of a few books in order to decide which one you want to dive into right now? I was torn because all three of these started out great, but ended up going with A Map of Paradise by Susan Meissner.

I made the most amazing recipe from the new cookbook I bought Spend With Pennies Everyday Comfort by Holly Nilsson. It is called Lemon Pesto Shrimp Pasta with Pepper Parm Crumbs and was absolutely splendid. As a matter of fact, you could leave out the shrimp and just have a pesto/parm/panko crumb pasta that is sensational.

This is the photo from the book, but I went heavy with the pesto/panko/parm mixture, and lighter on the shrimp. I may skip the shrimp completely next time and just go with the pesto/panko/parm. I'm telling you,it was good!

Ok. Last but not least, I have a recommendation for you. A year or so ago I discovered a brand of pajamas called Bedhead. These are without a doubt, the best pjs I have had in my life. They are made of the most silky soft stretchy cotton jersey you can imagine. The prints are amusing and the fit is true to size. I swear I even sleep better when I am wearing these. The particular style above is very limited in sizes at this point, but there are lots of other cute ones to choose from.
Here is a close-up of the print of these:

I mean, really, how cute is that?
So here is the thing, these pjs aren't cheap. They cost around $120 (the summer styles cost less), but will last you years and are way cuter than anything else you are currently wearing. I just cleaned out my dresser of about 7-8 pairs of old sad pajamas I have had for decades. Why not clear out all the old c%&p and invest in a pair or two of comfortable, cute, well-made pajamas you will actually enjoy wearing? Go check out their website Bedhead Pajamas, I know you will find something you love.
I wish they paid me for my endorsement, but sadly not.
I told you I was all over the place with this post, and I wasn't lying. I hope you all have a great weekend, with nice weather, good food, and great jammies.

Love all your Easter-y looking things! The basket quilt it just the cutest. Do you remember the pattern? I’m a bit short on spring finishes– but yours are inspiring. Did I mention it’s snowing here again today?
Loved your post!!! Have already requested the cookbook from my library and excited to try the shrimp recipe. Nicole I so enjoy your posts and hope you continue for many years. Blogging makes me think of having a pen pal back in the day. My mother wrote to her pen pal in Australia for over 49 years! Thanks again and hope you have a lovely weekend and a few glasses of bubbly around your new fire table. Cheers!
I love this blog entry! What a lot of good recommendations. I went to the website for Spend With Pennies and will get a daily recipe from them. Thanks for the praise of the recipe you are so delighted with.
I too love reading your blog, it’s a new inspiration every day! May I ask the brand of your fire pit, your furniture looks very similar to ours so a fire pit to match would be great! I have an addiction to pajamas 🤣🤣, I’m going to go check these out! Thank you for all the things you share with us!! Enjoy the weekend!!
Fun blog today! The fire table is perfect for that spot on your porch! You’ll enjoy some quiet time sitting around it with Archie…who is cute as can be, by the way! I have similar pj’s, but another brand. They’re so comfy that I ordered a second set! Your pasta dish looks & sounds delicious! Have a restful weekend reading!
Oh, that fire pit / table will be such a nice place to sit around in the evenings!
Seriously considering buying a pair of the pajamas. How do you feel about the sizing? Was there much shrinkage after washing?
Enjoy your time with your granddaughter, and your new fire table. I’ve always enjoyed them at resorts on vacation.
Your spring decor is so cute and fun! I just purchased a new spring scented candle yesterday and I love the fresh fragrance. The pjs are super cute, the fabric print is adorable! The recipe sounds wonderful and looks great too.Enjoy your fire pit!
