Jelly Roll Jammin’

The Internet has been all a-buzz about jelly rolls in the past couple of weeks, so of course, I had to do something with them too. Primitive Gatherings has just come out with a really pretty new collection called "Redwork Gatherings," as well as a pattern, especially for jelly rolls.

This quilt is so easy. As a matter of fact, the name of the pattern is "Take It Easy." Honestly, I think you could make it in a weekend! The quilt is good-sized, 72" x 78". If you love red and white quilts, this could be a lovely addition to your collection.

I got my strips all starched and ironed, then cut into the strips required by the pattern. I can plug in a podcast or an audible book and stitch away.

Did you start any jelly roll projects as a result of the recent promos of them? I know I don't use them enough. It is a fun way to use up every bit of a couple of jelly rolls! You could even make it smaller and go with just one.

Saying goodbye to September. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

  1. Do your jelly roll strips ‘shrink’ in width when you starch or only in length? I haven’t starched my pre cuts and am curious. Love that Primitive Gatherings fabric line!

  2. What a great block! It took me a couple of minutes to figure it out, but it’s genius! I’m planning a quilt that uses 2 ½” strips, although it’s not made with a jelly roll. Stay well!

  3. That’s a nice quilt and the construction looks nice and easy. Beautiful fabric!
I haven’t commented for a bit. Your first Sewcialites block is great!
You sure have a lot of projects on the go! That new-project enthusiasm has really got you going. Carry on!

  4. Isn’t it great to have a quick and easy quilt to work on once in a while. Yours will be lovely in the classic red and white colors.

  5. Great minds think alike! I saw this pattern on that jelly roll Saturday sew along and thought of making it in red, green, and white so bought 2 jelly rolls of the Fig Tree Christmas line for it. I don’t have the pattern yet though because I could not find a PDF download – may just have it mailed to me from Primitive Gatherings.
