Got Through It Just Fine

Just a quick update to say my first cataract surgery went all right. My vision is still blurry and I am quite tired for some reason. The doctor says things will improve day by day, so I am counting on it. I think I was expecting instant perfect vision, so I feel just a bit let down. I can tell it is better than it was, so that is a big plus!

Thanks for all your good wishes!

  1. Your doctor is right, your vision should get better but it takes time. What I noticed most was my eyes were very dry so I had to put drops in. They bothered me which they thought was the preservatives in the drops so I had to get Refresh Mega-3, which helped. Doctors should prepared us better. They also didn’t tell me if one lens is for seeing close and the other is for distance, you loose your depth perception. That’s still bothersome but the rest is okay. Good luck.

  2. So glad you are doing well. Thanks for updating us. I imagine the stress of the surgery and so much going on for you right now just has you beat. You got this though, rest up and heal. Hugs to you.

  3. Glad to hear that the surgery went well. I’ve heard that it can take a little time for your vision to clear, so give it time. Give yourself permission to rest and relax!

  4. Yay, glad things went well. I, for one, still had to wear glasses after my surgery, but lost the trifocals and went to bifocals, no glasses for the computer. Surgery also altered my glaucoma for about 10 years so no drops for that. More wins than losses.

  5. Thank you for the update. You’re one of three women I know of who had cataract surgery this week! You’ve all mentioned feeling tired, so I’m going with it’s a side-effect! I’ve heard that noticeable improvement takes a little while, so rest & relax as your eye heals.

  6. I had forgotten the part about not ‘seeing’ a huge vision improvement right away. What I did see immediately was the difference in the colour white – I hadn’t realized that white had become quite yellowly with the cataracts.

  7. I’m happy to hear your surgery went well and your vision is improving. It will get better day by day.
