A New Obession

Oh, Kim, at Daisy Cottage, look what you have started!  I saw the darling blue bird book on your blog last week, and have been thinking of nothing else but vintage children’s books ever since.  My son took me to the Old Monterey Book Shop this weekend, and see what I found!  A 1904 edition of Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm!  The book is in great shape, and the cover illustration is so pretty with its welcoming hollyhocks and cozy house amonst the trees.

I probably paid too much for it, and the old lady running the shop has got to be the crankiest person on the planet, but I have started my new collection with a winner!

  1. Fantastic book! The cover is so charming! I’m so glad you found a little treasure, cranky lady and all 😉 What a great start to your new collection ~ I’m thrilled that my birdie book inspired you!

  2. What a darling book! I love the graphics on the cover, too! Several posts ago on my blog I showed a few of my old children’s books – they are so fun to collect!

  3. Oh, how I loved that story when I first read it! Looks like a great edition. Books, and particularly children’s books, are a passion of mine, too. We travel in a 5th wheel right now, so my collecting is on hold. =)
