Sampler Quilt Block #3

img_0102.jpg

Ta da!  Sampler Block #3.  I am using the Chocolat line of fabric by Moda.  My friend Lisa and I are working together on sampler quilts using the same block patterns, but completely different fabrics.  Her fabric choice is Fig Tree’s Cinnamon Stars (also by Moda).  She is also using a different approach to her quilt blocks, using a darker fabric selection for her backgrounds.  I am going to have to get cracking on my blocks though, as from the sounds of it, she is already up to Block #7 or #8!  My problem is that I just discovered the joys of machine applique and can’t stop playing with sharp scissors and teensy scraps of fabric!

  1. Oooo – your block looks great, Nicole! I love that striped fabric in your center! I am really having fun with this sampler – I hope you are too!

  2. Nicole – that block is lovely! I have some Chocolat fabric, and my mind is bursting with ideas as to how to use it.
    Thank you for sharing!

  3. The block looks lovely. It’s always fun to make a quilt in the same pattern but different colours than a friend. They always seem so different when you are done.

  4. Your blocks and quilts are always so nice. You do great work. Thanks for sharing. I’m glad someone out there is getting something done.
