My Next Project

Happy Valentine’s Day friends!  I hope your day is full of sweet surprises.

The eye candy pictured above is the focus fabric and pattern for the next quilting project I am planning.  The fabric and the pattern are called A Morris Garden by Timeless Treasures (yes, I do occasionally fall for fabric made by a company other than Moda!).  It was all part of a kit I purchased on the day of the Great Prairiequeens 30% Off Everything Sale.  (Also known as the day no one signed up for my classes).

The pattern looks super simple, which is great for a couple of reasons–one, it won’t take long to make, and two, it will allow the beauty of this gorgeous fabric collection to shine through.  Remember, sometimes it is all about the *fabric* and not fancy piecing and construction.

Here are some pics of some of the other fabric in the group.  I wasn’t really in love with the yellow, which seemed like the Odd Duck.  But when you look at the pattern, see how it makes your eyes move from point to point around the quilt top?

  1. I really love this fabric. I have drooled over it several times and decided I was going to pass. It is going to make a gorgeous quilt! Happy Valentine’s Day!

  2. I have been eyeballing that pattern – those fabrics are exquisite, Nicole! What a gorgeous quilt that is going to be!
A very Happy Valentine’s Day to you!!!

  3. I though I had just posted a comment, but something happened (or nothing happened)! I have definitely been intrigued by that pattern, and those fabrics are exquisite – I can’t wait to see it finished!
    Happy Valentine’s Day, Nicole!

  4. Another lovely project. I have a long weekend so I need to get something pulled together to work on – I am very inspired by the spring look to some of the things I am seeing around lately.

  5. I love those Wm. Morris fabrics too and am waiting on a delivery from Hancock’s of Paducah! I haven’t seen them in our shops here in Sacramento. Over the years, I’ve “collected” some of the other prints that were manufactured by Rose & Hubble, so I’m looking forward to seeing if/how these blend. NOW I’m also looking forward to seeing the quilt you make with them! I’m sure it will be wonderful!

  6. For this new quilt, is that fabric that you show in the picture with the pattern part of this same collection? All the pictures I can find of “A Morris graden” don’t include anything that looks close to that fabric. i love it and would love to find some. I even looked at Prairie Queens website and didn’t see it in their photo of the collection. Please help!!

  7. Those fabrics are beautiful. I can’t wait to see how your quilt turns out. I thought about getting some of the Morris fabrics but am intimidated by the strong design patterns.

  9. Happy belated Valentine’s day! Hum…. that is some sweet looking fabric. Very much outside of your quilting norme I would say. I cannot wait to see your version of this pattern! Thanks for sharing!
