Monday Cotton Head

We had a lovely weekend.  Maybe too lovely?  This morning I feel all cotton headed and groggy.  It is possible to have too much of a good thing I guess.   Just salad and mineral water for me today, if you get my drift.

My daughter and son in law and their sweet Westie puppy, Remy, came to visit for the weekend.  It was a pretty terrific time–we hung out and cooked and wine tasted and watched the dogs play.  Ozzie adores Remy and cried so when they left for home.  Most of the time the two of them share toys and make up silly tug or chase games, but when Remy has a bit of rawhide chew, he tends not to want to share.  At. All.  Here is Ozzie getting as close as he dares, but still being respectful of Remy's possession.

Much to the dogs' chagrin, we put them outside while we went to lunch at one of our favorite restaurants in Carmel Valley on Saturday afternoon.

Once we got to Carmel Valley, we found that the entire little town was having an Art and Wine show.  So after a delcious lunch at The Corkscrew we wandered around town sipping tastes from various local wineries.  Sara had the healthiest lunch–salad and this gorgeous cup of gazpacho.

We came home, fired up the barbeque, watched the puppies frolic on the lawn, and watched the stars come out.  Here are my yellow roses basking in the light at the end of the afternoon.  It feels like summer at last.
