Huge Bummer

6a00d8341cdb3f53ef00e5534da7418833-800pi.jpg  Our plans to go to Disneyland fell through!  Am I ever disappointed.  I had my suitcase out and was trying to decide between my white shorts or the navy ones, and we had to cancel everything.  Lots of reasons, nothing major–it just isn't in the cards to go this week.

I am consoling myself at the Bernina, and surrounding myself with my beautiful fabric stash.  Yesterday I worked on the blue and white blocks, shamelessly copied from Patti at Quilting is My Passion.  Those little guys take awhile to make!  I finished four more I think.

Patti has a great tutorial on an interesting method of making half square triangles and hour glass blocks (quarter square triangles).  If you haven't been keeping up with her blog, go check it out, she does a terrific job of explaining things. The method involves cutting out a nine inch square of two fabrics, cutting them into strips, sewing the strips together, then using a special ruler (I like the Bias Square Ruler) to precisely cut out half square triangles.  I can't explain it worth a toot, so go see her blog for the most interesting Two Color Quilt progress ever!
