Fall Decorating

Over the weekend, I spent some time dragging out my Fall decorations.  Hello, it's October already!  So, how did that happen so fast?

I always get inspired by the Pottery Barn catalog.  They have some super cute pumpkin candles I would love to get for a little vignette on my kitchen table.  Do you see Squirrel Nutkin on the tray above?  So cute.  He is made of cast iron, but in the picture he looks like a chocolate Easter squirrel.

Spooky!  Just the right atmosphere I am going for!

It wouldn't be October without a Halloween quilt, would it?  Think you are a procrastinator?  Bet I have you beat.  I finally got the binding sewn on the quilt above this past Saturday.  It has taken me since 2007.

Oh, here is a new project I started in one of my Miss Rosie classes in Illinois.  It is Carrie's Darcy Schnibbles pattern, made up in Halloween fabrics.  I have got to get this together and quilted this week so I can use it!  Wouldn't those Pottery Barn pumpkin candles look adorable on this little table topper?  So many projects, so little time!!

  1. Love the decorations and the Halloween quilt you’ve finished (APPLAUSE!) and the Schnibbles quilt that’s in progress. Aren’t they fun?!
My Halloween wall hanging was made during Pat Sloan’s Orange challenge about 18 mo. ago and I love it. I made a 2nd one for DS1 and his sweetie so I wonder if it’s up yet. Mine is.
I’ve had a growing suspicions we were soul sisters living on opposite coasts, but now that I see your lovely bookcases with masses of books, I know it for sure! We are book people, too.
    Hugs!

  2. One of these days I’m going to take down my kitchen/dining room wallpaper that is mostly pink and then I can decorate for fall!!!! Are you going to PIQS????

  3. We’ve been seeing that Halloween quilt on your blog for years and I had absolutely no idea the binding wasn’t done! I have a couple of quilts that need the binding that have been sitting around way too long. Love that fabric-do you remember what that fabric collection was?

  4. I did my fall decorating this past weekend too, but didn’t get out the Halloween stuff yet. I want to finish my witch wallhangings started a year ago! I agree, Pottery Barn is always a great inspiration.
Your new project–Minnick & Simpson line?

  5. I put out my “fall” quilt along with a black crocheted piece my mom made for me. My glass pumpkin sits on it. Must pull out some more this weekend, good inspiration here, When do we get to see your road trip purchases?

  6. Nicole…is that a Rosie’s Ring candle? They are made here in Denver and my dear friend, Joe, is her handyman. I have several of them in my home.
Your house looks very fallish…I like.
