Over the weekend, I made a few more pumpkin log cabin blocks. Are these not the cutest things you’ve ever seen? I have 12 blocks made and think I will make 4 more for a total of 16 blocks. I will do a lattice in between the blocks, with cornerstones. This quilt should finish at a decent lap/throw size. It will be perfect to toss on our loveseat on the front porch, or over the back of a sofa or chair in the house. I think I am going to love it.
This block was inspired by Chelsi Stratton’s pattern Corn Maze. Her blocks are 16″ and I decided to scale down to 12″ blocks. The fabric I am using is Birch and Willow by Sherri and Chelsi, for Moda fabrics. I bought a ton of it, so you will be seeing it in other projects!
Speaking of the cutest things, I have to share Eva’s professional water polo photos. All of a sudden, my baking companion and all-around buddy has blossomed into quite the beautiful young lady. You can be sure the boys have noticed as well.

She is so strong and healthy and good at anything swimming-related. Who knew we had an athlete in the family? She is so fast, the coach made her the “sprinter”, which means she swims down the length of the pool and nabs the ball before anyone else can get to it. Those girls’ water polo games are so exciting.
You can tell I am a proud Nana.

Whoa Eva! She grew up into a lovely little lady. Nanas are allowed to be proud! Well played young sprinter!
And certainly a very big cuteness overload. I just love those little pumpkins as a centre.
