Pumpkins!

I promise this is the last post on fall decorating.  I just can't seem to resist the cute little mini pumpkins when I go to the grocery store.  I mean really?  How cute are these little guys?

There are several decorating blogs I enjoy visiting, and the trend this fall seems to be decorating in neutral colors.  White pumpkins, burlap wreaths, succulents–colors much softer than the oranges and rusts I gravitate to this time of year.  Here are some links, if you would care to visit and see what I am talking about.  A Stroll Through Life, Miss Mustard Seed, Vignette Design.

While I do enjoy the occasional white pumpkin, it just doesn't seem right to leave out the glorious rusts and oranges and reds that say "Fall" to me.

My mantle and hearth have evolved into this at last.  I am not as lavish (cluttered) as a lot of people who decorate, but this assortment of objects pleases me.  I am wishing I had gone for larger pumpkins for the pumpkin stands, but that was all my grocery store had on hand, and I was too impatient to wait for the bigger ones to come in!  The pumpkin stands came from an online shop called Grandin Road, which has amazing Halloween decorations.

  1. I, too, love your cheery autumn decorations!! My fall tablecloths, candles, and pillows are out, but the Halloween touches of a ceramic pumpkinm candy corn candle, dishes, and Halloween wall quilt will wait for October.
I don’t buy real pumpkins this soon as they start to smell bad before Halloween.
    Thank you for the links!
    Hugs!

  2. Love your autumn decorations, those little pumpkins are adorable, especially the white pumpkins. I say less is more, lovely mantle display. Enjoy seeing all your pics of your new house. Inspires me to get going on my fall decorating!

  3. Your fall decorations are lovely. I agree with you about the white pumpkins…there’s just something missing with them…actually, they look anemic to me!

  4. Nicole, your fall decorations are fantabulous, as usual. I’ve seen so many different ideas for pumpkins this year but personally, I prefer more traditional decorating this time of year.
Hope you are having a great week!

  5. Love this decoration! You have such a beautiful and elegant way of decorating, I am always happy if you show pictures of your arrangements and explain your thoughts. Someday, when I grow up, I want to be able to decorate like you. 🙂

  6. You fall decorations look beautiful to me! I’m gravitating towards the white pumpkins this year too, but I like them mixed with the regular orange ones like you have. I hope to get out to a farm stand this weekend to pick up a white one since our grocery stores only have the orange.

  7. Love your fall decorating! Those little pumpkins in our area are called pie pumpkins. I love the white ones as well, although one person who sold me some last year said they are really a type of squash but people call them white pumpkins?! I love fall decorating, thanks for sharing yours! 🙂
