I put the pedal to the metal and got busy with my Bliss project. I want to finish this up and get on to another project. I am having fun making Swoon blocks, and plan to focus on that next.
Bliss has turned out very nicely, I think. I love the red center blocks and flying geese. I think it makes a good frame for the sampler blocks. As you see, I decided to leave in the aqua pin wheel block on the lower right. I think the aqua color fits in well there, so I decided to leave well enough alone.
I made a good start on sewing the top together. I think it is about half done. Tomorrow I will get that done and start on the flying geese border. I need to make 48 more flying geese!
Overall, I think Bliss is a cheerful little quilt, and I know I will enjoy having it out during the summer. It makes a nice companion quilt to my Barn Medallion quilt. My quilter found the absolutely perfect quilting design for that one: chicken wire!

How cute is that? Here is a close up of the quilting. It is a great pattern for a country style/farm quilt.

Hope your week got off to a great start. It is in the low 70s here so I have been sitting outside with my book every afternoon!

If you haven’t sewn it together yet, try moving the four predominantly red blocks to the four outside corners of the quilt. You might be right, they might be better in the center, but curious what they look like in the corners.
Love the chicken wire!
Nice suggestion! I’d like to see that too. It is amazing how different layouts affect the outcome of a quilt!
Good idea, Vickie, and interested to find out how that change would look – if it’s not too late, of course!
What a cute quilt this will be!
As all have said, love that chicken wire pantograph!
Hugs!
I really like the quilting pattern on your quilt. It makes me think of chicken wire or a honeycomb. Really approppriate.
I think the flying geese border will put it all together perfect.
really a lovely quilt
I love the happy yellows in this quilt! all the colors go so well together. Congratulations for knocking another one off your list. So many quilts and so little time. It would also help if those designers didn’t keep coming up with more amazing fabric all the time…
Bliss is going to be so cute! I like the ‘chicken wire’ quilting on the farm quilt!
