Progress on Pears

Despite an attack of Spring Fever, which is causing me to want to sit on the porch sipping iced tea all day long, I have gotten a bit of work done on my pear blocks.  If you recall, I had stacks of little bitty squares and rectangles labled from A to M that were to be sewn onto the various pear block units.  I am now down to the last three piles, so truly, much has been accomplished.

The pear tops and bottom units are finished, and I have just completed the stem units.  These were made with the stitch, flip and trim method, which I think is pretty accurate.

  1. Ta for the little tutorial and applause for the pear block progress!! You’re down to only 3 piles that are waiting for their turn!
Wishing you well on the stuff that’s happening tomorrow.
I’ve already made a run to the library to return DVDs before storms roll in later. This will be our 3rd day of rain. Glub, glub.
    Hugs!

  2. Shhhhh…….here’s a little secret for you, we’ve been working on “Mini’s”, here in the Fig Tree & Co. studio, 4 new mini quilt patterns will be released in the next few days, the Mini Pears is so cute, I think it’s my favorite.

  3. I’m enjoying your progress as I’ve admired this Fig Tree pattern for awhile. I liked your idea of making extras for a table runner. Guess I’m gonna’ have to order the pattern.
Couldn’t help but notice the secret post regarding the mini’s.

  4. You are making great progress on your pears ! It is hard to sew when it is so gorgeous outside. I have already made my sun tea to enjoy while I am sewing today 😀

  5. Love your little pears! Can’t wait to see them all done, I’ve been wanting to make that myself so may need to get cracking 🙂
