Eva’s Big Girl Room

I get requests now and then to show pictures of various rooms in my house, and thought you might enjoy seeing Eva's new Big Girl bed and early Christmas decorations.

Even though it isn't four feet taller and is missing a ladder, she seems pretty pleased with her new bed.  She hasn't fallen out, mainly because she tends to hug the wall.  I love how her Kate Spain All Wrapped Up quilt looks on her bed.  Want to know  a kind of weird coincidence?  Her other favorite baby quilt (the one she carries around the house and must have close by at all times) is also from a pattern called All Wrapped Up, by Artichoke Designs.  (Pattern no longer available).

We have managed to keep her room looking organized and tidy, despite Ozzie quickly discovering a new surface upon which he can nap.  He likes to scuff up her covers, make himself a little nest and be able to peer out the window to the front porch gate so he can see if anyone might come to the door.  Darn dog.

Her bookcase is all sorted out too, and we have had such nice times snuggling on her new bed reading stories before bed.  Notice her little Christmas tree on her play table?  It is all decorated in cupcakes and gingerbread people.  The ornaments are completely indestructable, so she can touch them and rearrange them to her heart's content.

I know it is a bit early for Christmas decorations, but I am not totally resistant to all the pressure I am getting from certain other family members.  It felt safer to start with Eva's room!

  1. What a sweet and charming room Miss Eva has with lots of books, toys, room to play, and that wonderful Big Girl Bed and Christmas quilt!! Oh, and that wee Christmas tree of her very own, too! You and the family may have to go get her as she’ll be happy to play there most of the time.
Might Santa bring one of those adorable upholstered little kid chairs or recliners? DS2 had a little recliner and wore it out as he out grew it.
The high here today is forecast to be 37*F. Brrrr!
    Hugs!

  2. My teacher heart is so happy to see lots & lots of books in Eva’s room! I made the ‘All Wrapped Up’ quilt for my niece in light pinks & aquas. She, too, likes it best…it’s a ‘real’ quilt unlike a crocheted afghan her mom ‘accidentally’ offered her! Kids are so funny about those things! (Yay, Ozzie…he never misses a trick, does he??)
