Ok, I Am Skipping Thanksgiving and Moving Right Into Christmas

Not really, but aren't these little cookies festive?  The recipe was in a magazine I picked up at the grocery store.  "America's Test Kitchen's Best Ever Christmas Cookies".  I must add these to my repetoire, they are delicious.  If you already make this kind of chocolate cookie with a Hershey's Kiss in it, you can just substitute the peppermint holiday Kisses they have out right now.  Fun, aren't they?

I had Eva's other grandparents over for lunch last week and served these for dessert.  I thought it was just the right finish!

Moving right into the holiday season, can you guess what I am working on?

Lori Holt of Bee in My Bonnet is doing a Chiristmas Quilty Sew Along quilt, and one of the blocks was this double mitten one.  The pattern is in her Quilty Fun book.  After making the Mr. Gobbles Thanksgiving place mat for Eva, I figured I should keep up the momentum and create a Christmassy themed one.  She loves cocoa:  starts every day with a cup of it.  This is going to be super cute. I will keep you posted on my progress.

  1. For some years now I have been purposing a change in the holiday Calendar. Each year celebrate every other holiday! One year its Thanksgiving …skip Christmas and do New Years. The next year skip Thanksgiving and New Years and celebrate Christmas. Only for the whole calendar year and Birthdays to of course.

  2. What an adorable and festive placemat this will be and Miss E is sure to be delighted by it. It must be so much fun to surprise her with these cute things you make for her!
Let, see, next up is the New Year, Snow, Valentines, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Flowers for May and June (?), the 4th of July, summer for August, School for September, and Pumpkins for October. That brings you back to Mr. Gobble!
I’m about to start a Christmas tea cozy. Fingers crossed!
    Hugs!

  3. Those cookies look really yummy!! I’m going to look for that magazine at the store! A cocoa themed placemat is so sweet!
Hey! Does the OzMan have one with dog bones or paw prints for his food & water dishes?? …think about it…
