Reconnecting with Viola

Despite a rather busy weekend, I managed to squeeze in a couple of hours of sewing, and reconnected with my Viola project.  I do like how this is coming together, except for the fact that my red flower vases look almost identical to the pink ones.  I may have to see what lighter pinks are in my stash and add some in and see how it looks.

My plan for the couple of days off I have this week is to get back to making the appliquéd stem/vase units.

Right now I am uncertain if I will make this quilt full size, which is 82 1/2" x 82 1/2".  I may scale it down a bit and use it in Eva's room at some point.  The more I think about it, that appeals to me. I love the quilt but it is a bit festive for me to use in the master bedroom.

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

  2. Love the fabrics and these Viola blocks!
One thing I love about quilting is that there are constant options and no quilt police! You can make this quilt any size you choose to. If you made it full size, would it be too large to use in Eva’s room if hung on a wall?
    Hugs!

  3. i just love that fabric and it works perfectly with the pattern. lucky baby e gets another beauty to call her own! ;p

  4. You are making great progress on Viola LOVE IT !
I have not attempted the stems yet for my Viola 🙁
I know I do not want my quilt to be full size. Thinking maybe 9 or 12 blocks instead of the 16 . Time will tell
