Sunshine and Shadow Sawtooth Stars

So this is what I needed 32 quarter square triangle units for.  My Sunshine and Shadow Sawtooth Stars have one of those units as the center of each block.

My accomplishment this weekend was finishing all 32 Sawtooth Star blocks.  I had two relatively uninterrupted sewing days.  Eva spent the weekend with us, but my husband was great at helping to entertain her.

My project is Raise the Roof, a Miss Rosie pattern that requires 32 of these star blocks, plus 32 log cabin blocks.  This layout is so cool, I can't wait to share it with you!  The fabric line is Jefferson County, a collection by Jeanne Horton who owns the Wisconsin shop Country Sampler.  The photo looks a little blurry to me. I think I need to clean off my camera lens, but have no clue how to go about doing that.  Any suggestions?

  1. That top is stunning! I’m really impressed that you were able to accomplish so much over the weekend! Cleaning a camera lens isn’t in my skill set! Good luck!

  2. Oh boy Nicole, I’m loving this and, of course, anything made with fabric from Jeanne Horton can’t go wrong in my book. I can’t wait to see the finish. A lot of hours in what you are showing here and would have taken me months!

  3. Just in case you loose your pattern, it is also in Carrie’s book called: Miss Rosie’s Spice of Life Quilts. There’s many great patterns in this one. Wish I had tome to make them all. ;>) Edwina from sheep ranch in Petaluma CA

  4. For lens cleaning I use Zeiss Lense Cleaner solution with a clean microfiber cloth… If you go to Amazon use search words “Zeiss glass cleaner for camera lenses”.
