Happy Thanksgiving

It will be a happy Thanksgiving at our house this year for sure. My husband came home from the hospital yesterday and we now embark on his long road to recovery and mobility. He is beside himself with the idea of being home and seeing Archie, spending time with me, eating my cooking, and being surrounded by familiar things. And of course, not being interrupted every twenty minutes to have his vitals checked, choose his next meal, or have one kind of therapy or another.

In preparation for his homecoming, I made veggie soup (his request), and a pumpkin pie, and decorated the front porch to welcome him home for the holidays. On Thanksgiving, we decided to stay home because we aren't used to using the new wheelchair and transferring in and out of the car quite yet. We will get some practice this next week because he has doctor's appointments and outpatient physical therapy.

The holiday decorating has begun, with the front porch. I wanted him to be greeted with something festive that was a promise of happy days to come.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving if it is a holiday you celebrate. We are so grateful for every moment we have to spend with our loved ones.
