New Ott Light

I got a new sewing light for Christmas!  It is an Ott Light, with a magnifier feature.  The lighting for taking pictures has been dismal with all the rain we have been getting, but I think you can make it out in the photo above.  It has a gazillion little L.E.D. lights that illuminate my sewing area perfectly.

This photo was shot through the magnifying glass.  The lamp has a flexible goose neck, so you can bend it forward and look right through it if you need to see better to pick out pesky stitches.  If you never make any sewing mistakes that need to be picked out, you might not use this feature.  Right.  Seriously, this will be great for close work such as appliqué or any other type of hand sewing.

My children got it for me at Joann's with a coupon I think.  It has really made a great difference in how well I can see while sewing, particularly on these dark gloomy days we have been having.  I recommend it!

  1. What a great gift! Very thoughtful. I just bought myself a new lamp from Stella co. It is supposed to arrive today. They had a great sale plus a coupon. I am looking forward to it. The older I get, the more light I need. Trouble!!!!
