Geese Every Which Way

My little Janome has just about all it can handle with these flying geese.  If you recall, my Bernina is in the shop with some sort of issue or other, and I have not heard a word about what is wrong with it.  I am missing it terribly and feel very at sea without it.  It is hard to remain motivated when I have to look at the big empty pit in the table where it should be sitting.

Also, my beloved quilter has not been able to work for months due to a health issue, and I have quilt tops that are begging to be quilted.  The entire effort seems rather pointless right now, without my machine and without my quilter….

Here is a sweet picture to bring a smile to my face.  After our family halloween party last Saturday, when the guests had left and the food all put away, just the family sat in the living room at my dad's house and let the kids play with the balloons we had used outside as part of the decorations.  They had more fun playing with those balloons way past their bedtimes, I tell you.

Also, the three great grand children don't get to see each other regularly, so it was a real treat to have them together in one room to interact.

It wasn't easy to catch them all lined up for a photo, but I managed it before the baby took off in the other direction.  She just learned to walk a few months ago, and you would think she'd been doing it her whole life.  That kid is fast!  The cauldron of eyeballs caught her attention for a minute.

This is one of my favorite pictures, maybe ever.  Eva is actually reading a book to her cousin!  And look at him sitting all Criss Cross Applesauce listening like a little soldier, with his sweet hands folded in his lap.  Sigh, these years pass by much too quickly don't they?  Treasure the moments, friends.

  1. That picture of Eva reading is adorable. And I love the kids playing with the balloons. Always a favorite that I forget about. Simple things make me smile. Everything is so complicated these days. Thanks for sharing. It was an excellent way for me to start my day with a smile.

  2. Such sweet pictures and a wonderful after-party time for all!
So sorry about your Bernina’s absence. Do call the shop for an update as they certainly should have calledyou!
    Big hugs!

  3. What a lovely photo of Eva reading to her cousin. He looks like he knows what to do at story time! I’m thinking both his mom & Sara would love a copy of that picture in a frame! And, have one printed for yourself, while you’re at it!

  4. I remember Eva as a toddler on your blog when I first started reading it! Time sure does fly. I’m sorry that you’ve lost the wind in your sails, Nicole, but your Rhubarb table runner is gorgeous! Take care!
