I found the perfect red and yellow roses for my Royal Albert Old Roses inspired centerpiece.

Doesn't it go great?  So excited for my little party this afternoon.  I made scones and my taste tester Miss Eva tells me they are wonderful.

I used a Pioneer Woman recipe called Vanilla Chocolate Chip Mini Scones.  They were easy to make and look just like the picture on the recipe.  Ree says that with the glaze, they will keep a couple days.  I am always happy to find a make ahead recipe I can use when I entertain.

I've been playing Christmas music and watching Hallmark Channel Christmas movies.  I am such a nerd, but I am really going to enjoy the holidays this year.  Hope you all will too. I am starting early, so let's hope I don't lose steam by mid-December!

  1. Perfectly lovely and those scones look delicious. Have a wonderful time at your tea party this afternoon!
    Hugs!

  2. Those scones look delicious! And your centerpiece perfectly compliments your china! Good job! I, too, enjoy a Hallmark Channel movie playing while I sew…all year ’round! Happy tea party!

  3. You look read to welcome your guests with panache. Here’s a handy tip. You can freeze unbaked scones, they usually just take a couple of extra minutes in the oven. Or thaw over night in the fridge and bake as usual. I use this tip when we don’t want a whole batch, or if I’m making pastry for an event at church. People are amazed when I pull out fresh baked scones at 6:00am. It works great Christmas morning, if we want a little treat to go with coffee while some gifts get opened, and before the day starts in earnest.

  4. Perfect scones and centerpiece! I’ve also been switching between Hallmark and Lifetime and been loving all the cheesy Christmas movies. Loving every minute!
