BlockHeads 1 Block Layout

The Moda BlockHeads first sew along (2018) was so much fun.  I found it challenging and interesting and am very pleased with my blocks on the whole.  I am still fooling around with the various blocks-rearranging them, remaking some of them, etc.  But this is basically what my final layout will be.  I plan to put a lattice between all the blocks to separate them more, and that blank area in the center will be one large appliqued block.  I was thinking of doing a scene of a house and a tree or a cat or something- maybe even something floral.  I will have to go through my quilt books and see what I can come up with.

Those applique blocks that are incorporated throughout this quit top were just so much fun to do and I want to bring them out even more.  My thought was that a central medallion of applique would do that.

Hope your week got off to a good start.  I was so keen to get back to my sewing that I haven't even unpacked my suitcase yet.
It's true.

  1. That little squirrel is my favorite! Maybe you can incorporate some of her friends into the center appliqué? Whatever you decide, it’s a spectacular quilt!

  2. I think your idea of an appliqued center block with a house and tree would look great since you have birds, a beehive and that cute squirrel. Kind of a garden wildlife theme.
