The Moda BlockHeads first sew along (2018) was so much fun. I found it challenging and interesting and am very pleased with my blocks on the whole. I am still fooling around with the various blocks-rearranging them, remaking some of them, etc. But this is basically what my final layout will be. I plan to put a lattice between all the blocks to separate them more, and that blank area in the center will be one large appliqued block. I was thinking of doing a scene of a house and a tree or a cat or something- maybe even something floral. I will have to go through my quilt books and see what I can come up with.
Those applique blocks that are incorporated throughout this quit top were just so much fun to do and I want to bring them out even more. My thought was that a central medallion of applique would do that.
Hope your week got off to a good start. I was so keen to get back to my sewing that I haven't even unpacked my suitcase yet.
It's true.

This is looking great and so close now Nicole…wow, almost there. Love this and will be beautiful!
Love it! Great plan. This is going to be a wonderful quilt.
That little squirrel is my favorite! Maybe you can incorporate some of her friends into the center appliqué? Whatever you decide, it’s a spectacular quilt!
That is awesome Nicole! What a lot of work!

Love your idea for the quilt lay out! I saved all the directions, but that rainy day hasn’t come yet…
I love the layout!
Love it!!! You are tempting me to start one!
I think your idea of an appliqued center block with a house and tree would look great since you have birds, a beehive and that cute squirrel. Kind of a garden wildlife theme.
