This cheerful fabric collection is Cali & Co, by Corey Yoder of Coriander Quilts. Corey is doing a free sew-along featuring this fabric (but you could use any scraps you have on hand) for a very colorful and scrappy quilt. There is a very active FaceBook group that is full of fantastic photos of the blocks and fabric collections other participants are making/using.
Corey has a YouTube channel where she does a tutorial of each month's block. Corey also has a blog where she goes into a lot of detail on each block and various construction techniques. The blocks are all beginner-friendly and seem to be quite heavily using half-square triangle units. The photo below is from Corey's blog site. It is the first block in the sew-along.

If you have a ton of scraps left over from a Fat Quarter Shop Designer Mystery quilt, or a BlockHeads project, or any other recent (or not-so-recent) quilting activity, this is a wonderful way to use them up. Check out the links above and see what you think!
I am up to my eyeballs in boxes and trash bags and in the midst of the Great Closet Clear-Out in anticipation of our new carpeting being installed on April 2 and 3. This process was ever so much more disruptive than I could have imagined. Once you start emptying clothes rods, dressers, and closet floors, you have to do so much sorting. Do you toss it, do you donate it, do you sell it, or do you box it up and store it while the carpet is being installed?

Here is my upstairs bathroom now. I am happy to say the upstairs is finished being cleared out. The carpet installers will move the furniture thank goodness.

Now that’s spring cleaning at it’s finest!
I love sorting and tossing. When it is all put back minus unwanted stuff, you will feel so great.
Thanks for the sew along notice. I just might participate in this one!
I had my husband empty my bedroom closet a few years ago. Every single thing was taken out and I sorted aggressively.
He scrubbed and vacuumed the empty space.
I only put 25% back in my closet. I donated the other 75%. The decisions were easy, everything with a zipper, button or snap went (my arthritic thumbs).
My goal now is nothing on the floor, so no fall hazards and the carpet can be vacuumed regularly.
The other house closets are not as empty, but mine is. And I love it.
Cali & Co. is such a fun fabric line and from the photos on FB the blocks are great. The closet emptying task is challenging and the sorting and purging part is hard. The end result is going to be worth it. Take care!
Whew! I’m worn out just looking at the stacks of things in the spare bathroom! You need to take a day (or two, or three) off to read & rest up from all of that hard work! The new carpet will be worth the effort–good job!
on the bright side….I LOVE all the windows in that bathroom. Bathrooms tend to be so dark. I’m with Jan. Rest.
As others have said, the end product will feel so worth the time and effort! New carpeting AND cleaned out closets – for the win!
