Just a quick post today to show that I wasn’t a complete lazy bones over the weekend. I got all caught up with my Riley Blake Challenge blocks, 1-11. These blocks have indeed been challenging and great fun to see come together.

This is Block 11, Pinwheel Pop, designed by Amanda Niederhauser for Riley Blake. I think it is innovative and interesting to look at.
But that wasn’t my only accomplishment! I made 48 flying geese to finish off the borders of my Bliss quilt.

That took a minute, but they are all done now and ready to be assembled into the first of two outer borders on the Bliss quilt. I hope to tackle that job on Wednesday.
Today I am off to the Bay Area for my eye injection, so no post from me tomorrow. I hope you all had a productive weekend. We’ve had nothing but rain, hail, lightning, and major thunderstorms. Archie has been ensconced on my lap for most of the weekend, barking in alarm whenever there is a clap of thunder. He does not care for this type of weather whatsoever.
Back on Wednesday!

Oh my goodness, what a lot of geese! The pinwheel block is unusual – I like it! Here not much sewing but my sister-in-law visited for the first time in this home. She had the tour of the quilts and I discovered one that needs the blocks sewn together and quilted for charity – among others I had forgotten tucked away. Weatherwise we have the hail and the heavy April showers but thankfully no thunder. I’m a bit like Archie – if I’m outside and I hear thunder I could be an olympic sprinter running indoors!
Your blocks are beautiful!
I had my first gardening giveaway of the season! Grape Hyacinth bulbs by the bucket full. I made 5 gardeners very happy.
Like fabric scraps, I share my excess plants.
Safe travels!
These Riley Blake blocks are indeed a challenge, and definitely different from the “usual”. I like them and am glad they are available on their website. Poor Archie! We had two dogs related to one another and one was terrified of thunderstorms (and fireworks!). The other was always calm, cool, and totally unbothered. We wished he could have calmed her!
Exciting to have the flying geese blocks completed, I always feel like getting the trimming done is such an accomplishment. I am amazed in the variety of blocks from the Riley Blake challenges. I’ve just finished a quilt using 12 blocks and I enjoyed making every block. I will definitely be using that great resource again.
I hope you get a break in the weather and no thunder for a while. Safe travels to your appointment.
The trim pile from your flying geese looks very satisfying! Finishing 48 of them is a huge accomplishment! Safe travels to & from your eye appointment.
Safe travels and hope all goes smoothly with your injection🥰
Love your blocks and many, many geese. Your progress on Wednesday will be lots of fun!
Safe journey there and back home again!
Hugs!
I love the green in your blocks. It makes it all flow together nicely.
