I am playing along with the Fat Quarter Shop’s Sewcialites 3 sew-along, but I can’t promise my version will end up looking anything like theirs. I am definitely doing my own thing here. The block above is my finished 18″ center medallion. I was heavily inspired by a woman who posts on the Sewcialites Facebook page, although I am not using all the same fabrics as she is and I may substitute in different blocks from time to time.

These are the blocks I have made so far. The smaller ones are Sewcialites 1-4. I am not sure of my setting this point, so if I go with a diagonal set, that cute house block won’t fit in. I will just take it a week at a time and see how things evolve. It sure is fun playing with all these patterns!
Sara and I have a new book review podcast up! Be sure and watch us on YouTube (Reeding Between the Lines), or listen to us on Apple Podcasts. Click the link on the sidebar of the Sisters’ Choice main website to get to it. We talk about some great books and ways to organize them on your Kindle so they aren’t a confusing mess.
Hope you are all having a great week!

Love the medallion!
On point sounds like a good plan, it would give breathing room to the other blocks.
The house block could be the center of a runner or turned into a label for the back.
I’ve been really excited about this project!
Your blocks and fabric placements are beautiful!
Thanks Marie. It’s been fun to work with these fabrics.
That’s going to be a beautiful quilt! The center medallion is stunning! 😍
Remember back in the day when we made those “blended quilts” that In the Beginning quilts made popular? Those were such fun to do. Working with these French General fabrics reminds me of that.
The center medallion is an attention-getter in the best way! Those colors together are stunning! It sounds like you’re having a really productive week!
I need to get back to my UFOs, but this one was calling to me.
Wow- I opened your blog and saw that beautiful block! These are stunning and your use of fabrics is perfect. I, too have gotten into the substitution habit with these QALs. But that is fine, because then it is really my own.
I am a firm believer in the “make it your own” philosophy!
Your medallion center piece is beautiful Nicole! I can’t wait to see the end product.
Have a great weekend and hope you get to sew!
The weather has reverted to grey and rainy, so I am happy to stay inside at my sewing machine!
Oh, these blocks are beautiful. That French General fabric is always so pretty. Do I spy with my little eye a fussy-cut little bird in the middle of that house block?? How absolutely adorable!
Loving the centre block – you could always do corner stones with the house and use 3 more – or make 3 more houses – and do the rest on point?
Love the blocks and fabrics and applaud all changes that make your quilts one-of-a-kind on the planet!! Our quilting ancestors are proud of you! That’s my soapbox – wink, wink, nudge, nudge, to quote Monty Python.
I look forward to seeing the finished quilt top in due time.
Hugs!
