One more WIP nearly checked off my list. I got the Cali & Co blocks together, all but borders. I have a white 1 1/2 inch narrow containment border to attach, and then an outer border. I believe I will have to order some fabric for the outer border. But for now, this counts as done and off the design wall.
It was a fun project. Corey Yoder of Coriander Quilts can be counted on to provide interesting, colorful, and enjoyable sew alongs. If you haven’t done one with her, you should consider it. She has a YouTube channel and does a few tutorials to get you started on her projects. She checks in every Saturday morning with an update, encouragement, and inspiration.
I was so keen to get my border fabric for the Erica Arndt bow quilt that I accidentally ordered it twice. Oh well. I will do a pieced backing and use it. I will be so glad to get these projects wrapped up so I can move on to something new.

As a matter of fact, I may have jumped into one of those new projects….This isn’t the most attractive photo, but it is of all the pieces for a block for a new sew along I am going to do. The blocks don’t seem super difficult, but do involve a ton of pieces, but I think it is going to be super cute. Can you guess what sew along it is?

The Cali& Co quilt is awesome! It it definitely on my list. I just can’t decide if I want to use bright colors or civil war prints.
oh! use civil war prints, carol! it will be gorgeous!
This is my hands down, absolute favorite. I love color and lots of it. It has turned out gorgeous.
I love this quilt! But then I am a “bright colors” person! I’m sticking to two sew-alongs this year-A Quilting Life and then I am going to do Sewcialites again-I think!!
Is that Sherri’s January block from her A Quilting Life 2026 BOM?
No. Sherri’s blocks never have this many pieces!
Heather Briggs My Sew Quilty Life?
That is it Debbie! Man, what a lot of pieces and seams to match. I am not sure if I am going to stick with this sew along if the blocks are all so time consuming! This took an hour to cut and three hours to sew.
Nicole,
Your Cali and Co quilt top is such a “happy” quilt! I am not sure what your next sew along is but the I like the fabric.
Oh, I love those cheerful colors! It is indeed a happy quilt as CarolE says!
I do like this quilt and the blocks. Nice to have another WIP almost done.
Had a result today. I finished quilting the group’s charity quilt, took it to the other, more quilting orientated group where some of us also go to play for a show and tell. I hadn’t done the binding but one of the other ladies volunteered – I consider that done, although I still have another to quilt! Luckily not too large. Now on to one of my own, just needs a couple of borders and then another top will be completed!
How nice to have someone who likes to do hand bindings step up and volunteer!
man, thank goodness for those alphabeties….that’s a lot of pieces.
This block was insane. Not sure if I have eleven more in me! It took ages to sew together, but it’s done and pretty cute.
Your Cali & Co. quilt is so happy looking! It’s one of my favorites that you’ve made! The sew-along quilt that you said took 3 hours to make immediately made me think of the Gilligan’s Island theme song from back in the day…🎶🎶”A 3-hour Tour!”🎶🎶
Love that quilt and the fun fun colors! I must make it (some day!)
Love your Cali quilt and that block will be adorable when finished! I see your Celebrate with Quilts book and wondering if you’re going to do the QAL? So many to chose from!
Cali & Co looks great, very colorful. Good luck with that BOM. I love Jan comment, Gilligan’s Island!!
