Supposedly if you are single and serve this Marry Me Chicken Soup to someone with whom you are enamored, you will be hearing wedding bells in the near future. So, be careful when you serve this! I’ve already got a husband, so this just reinforces our bond. I tell you, it is better than a love potion.
Once the onion, garlic, fresh basil, and sun-dried tomatoes are chopped, it is a simple matter of just dumping the rest of the ingredients into the Dutch oven. It sure smells good. The recipe uses rotisserie chicken, so it could not be easier. And here’s a brilliant idea: If you have leftover turkey from Thanksgiving, use that instead to make the recipe. If you do, be sure to let us know how it turned out!

Dennis has always enjoyed helping me in the kitchen. His strongest skills lie in chopping, grating, and knife sharpening. It is so nice to spend time together preparing a meal and sharing the events of our days. As you can see, he appears pretty jolly.
I have gotten a big jump on my Christmas shopping. Everyone seems to be starting their Black Friday sales early, so it works for me. I spent a couple of hours online yesterday checking gifts off my list, so I am feeling pretty good about that. Dennis and I have also begun to decorate for Christmas, which makes us both so happy. I am so glad I have a husband who is crazy for Christmas. He sure gets into it.

In the upcoming weeks, I will make an effort to post at least three times a week. I am aiming for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I am definitely NOT getting any sewing done, but there is cooking, decorating, reading, and other things going on, so with luck, I will have content for you during the holidays. My little kitchen counter vignette sure turned out cute, didn’t it?
Here is something fun to consider: My dad’s birthday is today, Nov. 26. He was born in 1925, so if he were alive, he’d be 100 years old!!! Happy birthday, Dad!

I just heard about Marry Me Chicken (made in a sheet pan) and here’s your recipe for a soup version! My mother was born in 1925, too (December 25). I’m not Christmas shopping but I am spending money making year-end contributions to the organizations and agencies that I support.
I’ve seen versions for Marry Me Pasta and Marry Me Chicken. They all sound good!
I am headed out today, for the holidays. I am headed east for Wednesday and Thursday to spend Thanksgiving with my brother/SIL and my youngest daughter. And then same daughter and I are flying out in the wee hours Friday to spend a long weekend (Friday-Tuesday) on the west coast with my son/DIL/granddaughter. We cook and fill their freezer while we are there. There is a very good quilt shop.
My husband and other daughter stay home to tend the animals and have Thanksgiving with my 84 year old mother.
We do a similar version of this at Xmas, with my husband traveling and me home. And twice again in the spring/summer, each going in turn, I always go with our youngest daughter, it works for all of us.
Safe travels! Happy Thanksgiving.
It’s so good to see Dennis is able to help you this year! Blessings and Thanks! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you too! Yes, things are so much better this year than last.
Well I’ll just have to forward the recipe on to my son – he’s single! It doesn’t look like I’ll have grandchildren by my daughter and son-in-law, so he’s my only hope! Trouble is he’s always working all sorts of shifts (carer)!!! Still, he seems to be happy enough, although I hope he does find a very patient and understanding girl one day . . . soon! LOL!
I come from a very large family, so it is strange to just have the one granddaughter. We so grateful to be a part of her life. Our son has been in a couple of long term relationships, but is currently single. One can hope he will meet someone someday!
Sounds like your son needs that recipe too!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your followers. I’m kind of relieved we don’t have that over here – it’s stressful so close to Christmas – I don’t know how I’d manage! Well done to you all!
Ahren loves to make soup, so he’d probably love it. I have to make it for him when he’s here for Christmas.
Yes, Thanksgiving really is the start of the whole festive holiday season for us. Luckily I won’t have to host anything this year. We are going to our ex-son in laws house and all I have to do is bring cranberry sauce and a pumpkin pie!
Sounds great. You all have fun, goodness knows you and Dennis deserve it. All the best xxx
The soup looks like I would like to eat it…but have someone else cook. Snowing here today. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Happy Thanksgiving Betty!
I am so happy to see Dennis helping you. He has made great progress. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. You both continue in my prayers.
He has made so much progress since last year. I was looking back at photos from last Thanksgiving and he was in a wheelchair!
Happy Thanksgiving.
Sounds like a truly excellent soup recipe! So glad to see Dennis smiling and having a good time – he will be so happy to get out his wonderful Christopher Radko ornaments. Will they be protected from a curious Archie?
It’s funny, Archie doesn’t seem to have much interest in the glass ornaments. I had some gold ribbon out yesterday while I was decorating my small tree and he managed to filch one strip of it and carry it around the house for awhile. I think Dennis’ precious collection should be ok this year!
What a difference a year makes! It’s so nice to see Dennis up & busy with holiday preparations. You both have so much to be thankful for this season! The cookie jar looks just right on your little village quilt. Thanks for the Marry Me Soup recipe (today is our 54th anniversary❤️) & have a lovely Thanksgiving!
Happy Anniversary Jan! 54 years is quite an accomplishment.
I am so glad I brought out that little jar this year. It is full of caramels and looks just right in the kitchen.
Marry Me Chicken Soup sounds delicious! I’m going to make it, I’m sure I will have some turkey leftovers. Your little counter top vignette looks so cute and festive! You and Dennis have a wonderful time decorating for Christmas together! Have a great Thanksgiving! 🦃
Happy Thanksgiving Sandra! Let us know how the soup turns out if you make with your leftover turkey.
It is wonderful to see Dennis doing so well after his bout of illness. Prayers were heard and answered. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Nicole and your family.
Happy Thanksgiving! We have a lot to be grateful for this year.
happy Thanksgiving….yes, the sales started early this year. made my online shopping easier. I’m almost done. just a few more things to get. of course, fat quarter shop had to have a sale so……
Happy Thanksgiving! I managed not to buy any fabric for the past couple of months. Book, though…I need to start using the library.
Soup looks delicious and Dennis looks great! It was my birthday too and my son 🤣 Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving!
