Today’s post is a little look into my life lately.
The first thing is my reminder that I am moving this blog to WordPress. You can follow me there at sisterschoicequilts.blog
I have already started posting there, but my site design hasn’t been created yet, so it is pretty bare bones. If it turns out the way I hope, it will be a big improvement. I will have a button that says “Subscribe” and you will be able to fill out the details to get my daily posts sent to your email. Or, bookmark my site and just check in daily. I post most weekdays.
Needless to say, I haven’t been getting much sewing done, as I seem to spend my day conferring with the guy I hired to design the site and make it work.
I do have some fall decor out, including the pretty quilt above. This quilt was made with the Sampler Spree book by the talented Susan Ache. If you do not have this book, I highly recommend it. It has over 100 quilt block patterns!
In other news, we had a big lightning storm on Tuesday morning, and it caused numerous fires to start all over our dry county. In fact they are calling this type of fire “Lightning Complex Fires” and they are given numbers rather than names. The fire nearest us is the 2-7 Fire, and it seems to be under control at the moment. It was quite destructive, however, totally destroying the vineyards and property of one our our local winemakers. The total acreage involved, as I write this, is 591. There are other worse fires still going on and I pray for those who are affected. Bless our firefighters; they are heroes.
I hope your week is going well!
