  1. Oh, I really need a break from my “Must get done” sewing and this would be great! I follow Taunja and enjoy her patterns too.

    1. I made one of her checkerboard patterns for a Halloween table topper and I love it. I need to get that out and take a picture. There is a Christmas version as well (she seems to do that a lot) that I would like to make.

  2. Thank you for the link to these great projects! I’m finishing up a queen-sized quilt and would love a small gift project!

    1. I am so over huge quilts! I just want to work on smaller projects in the upcoming months. No clue how long that promise to myself will last, but I am going to try! lol

  3. Happy Fall to you too! I completed the Spooks and Spells quilt top this past week. The pattern was easy to follow, just be extra careful in cutting the two directional print fabrics, the cats and the graveyard. I marked my pieces with air erasable marker as I pieced them. I still had to change out four strips once I had the top all together. I’ve got one more Halloween themed quilt to finish, then maybe I’ll try a few mug rugs with the scraps. Thanks for the link for those too.

    1. Thank you SO much for the tip about the directional fabrics! That drives me nuts when they go in all different directions. I just promised in the previous comment no larger projects for a while, and see how long that lasted? I think Spooks and Spells has to be my next project. I have everything all starched and ready to go. As soon as I clear of the design wall I will be ready to go.

  4. I haven’t been a mug rug maker up until this point, but those two patterns seem to be calling my name! Gotta’ go…I need to check out that Etsy website!

  5. How cute are these mug rug patterns?! With your amazing sewing speed, I’m not surprised you finished the pumpkin one so quickly and so perfectly!
I definitely cannot digress from this baby quilt as I’m in a lupus flare (zero energy) and don’t want the baby in college by the time I manage to get this quilt finished!
    Happy Autumn Equinox!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hugs!

  6. I’m having trouble working on large projects too. I got my Halloween quilt back from the quilter last week. I still need to bind it. I may hang it w/o binding? I really do like mug rugs. I use to have them out on side tables until we got River. He thinks everything is a toy for him so…..

It’s gonna be hot the next two days. ugh. hate it. over it. I want to get back to complaining about being cold….

    1. The weather really took it out of me yesterday. So far today I feel pretty energetic.
Archie is the least destructive dog we have ever had. Ozzie used to wreck everything he could get his paws on, but Archie tends to leave things alone, thank goodness. Now if I could only cure him of his penchant to pee on the carpet in my bedroom….

      1. I remember Ozzie’s shenanigans….cords to expensive irons. Favorite shoes. my husband got mad at River 2 days ago because River took his book off the table and was running around shredding pages. the more mad Dave became the more delighted River was. ;p I told him to be grateful it wasn’t his prescription glasses that were also on the table. It’s like living with a toddler….everything must be out of reach or it becomes a toy. sorry about the peeing. that must be very frustrating. I have no suggestions. none.

        1. Archie had a sister, Sophie, who we had for a time. She was as bad as he was. Once Dennis had fallen deeply asleep in front of the tv (several glasses of pinot noir may have been involved) and she jumped up on his chair, removed his brand new prescription eyeglasses *from his face*, and chewed them up. He was so bewildered when he woke up.

    1. It is an herbal tea by Bigelow called Orange & Spice. It is caffeine free, so I can drink it at night and not be kept awake. It has a really nice flavor.
