Viola, Back From the Quilter

I'd like you to meet Viola, another wonderful Miss Rosie's Quilt Co. pattern. I made this quilt a while back and never got around to having it quilted. It is actually supposed to be bigger: sixteen blocks total. I can't remember why I made it smaller. Kind of wish I'd gone with the full size. At any rate, it is a beautiful and colorful quilt and I can't wait to use it!

Seriously Archie? I cannot lay a quilt down without him immediately lolling around on it. This time he rolled around like a pig in mud and simply would not get off it. Stuck his little legs up in the air and refused to budge.

"I live here now. What are you going to do about it?"

Thanks for your help with Typepad and comments yesterday. I don't know if the issue was on my end or theirs, but late yesterday morning I suddenly got about 30 comment messages all at once. They had been in limbo somewhere for two days and finally broke free. Things seem sorted out now.

  1. What is it with Wire Fox terriers and quilts? Last night Cosmo started digging on our bed quilt, then rolling on his back. Then came the zoomies and he finally jumped off and ran in his kennel. Your quilt is done. Angela Walters is right. Done is better than perfect. You do such beautiful work!

  2. I love the bright cheery colors on this quilt! And hugs to Archie. My boys used to park on my quilts as I worked on the bindings. Always good to see that sweet fluffy boy – yesterday was supposedly Natl Dog Day.

  3. The quilt is beautiful and your workmanship is outstanding. But Archie is so cute he deserves a lot of loving. You are so lucky to have him. We lost our Karlin in Feb. and my husband is adamantly against getting another dog. It makes me sad to think I will never own another dog.

  4. Archie was reminding us that yesterday was National Dog Day! 🐶 Your quilt is super cute & I love the bright colors!

  5. I remember this gorgeous quilt! I really need to make it…I need to look for the pattern online.
our dog grabs quilts and pulls them on to the floor if he wants to lay on them. such a precocious wanker.
tell Ginny(above) she should offer to babysit her neighbor’s dog when they vacation. she gets the dog fix she needs but it is only short term. it’s like being an auntie for kids on spring break. fun. fun. fun. then send ’em home.

  6. Super. I must get into my Miss Rosie books. There’s a lot of lovelies I’d like to make one day – in the meantime eye candy for when I peruse them again. Love the borders too. Archie – they have an uncanny need to move in when you don’t want them too. I have 2 cats – went to bed the other night and I swear they deliberately stretched out so I couldn’t get in! Luckily they did move off when I went to brush my teeth! I think that was them telling me we do what we want and don’t you forget it – but all I thought was Yayyyy bed back!

  7. I follow your blog on feedly and enjoy your posts but rarely hop over to leave a comment. But this post is too good not to comment on. I love your baskets of flowers and the colors and fabrics you chose for Viola. It is a gorgeous quilt!
And even more I love Archie. What a dear boy he is. We have an Airedale and your photos of Archie mirror some of our Airedale’s behaviors. Aren’t terriers the best?!

  8. I love this quilt! Miss Rosie’s patterns are lovely and some day I’ll get to one. Right now I’m working on two quilts for my grandsons for Christmas. Plus a friend has been diagnosed with cancer and I have to pull out a top to make him a quilt for chemo treatments. The baskets is one I really like.
Silly, silly Archie! A reply to Ginny- I have a friend who walks dogs at our Humane Society.Same story with her husband.
